About to buy my frst Jeep

There'a a 2001 Jeep Wrangler, manual, 6cyl 4wd for sale thru a dealer for $9,900 and it has 92,000 miles on it. The mileage is what has me worried. I'm worried about having some type of breakdown if I buy it. I test drove it and it seemed fine. Should I pass on it? Is there a way to see if it's anygood? My test drive seemed fine but I really know nothing about cars/Jeeps.

Wow, 2001 with almost 100,000 miles on it? I'm not exactly sure if that's high but I bought a '98 in 2000 and I only have about 58,000 on it (ive only had a couple of long trips and maybe drive it three days a week).

Find a mechanic friend or find someone you think you can trust to take a look at it first. Make arrangements with a local mechanic to see if you can bring the car by to have them check it out. If the dealer refuses, pass on it.

Milage with jeeps is always low... about 15 mpg on a good day. But I always hear about guys who tweak the enging and coax a few more miles out of it.
