Unfortunatlly this is a common problem for Jeeps. The front end resanates at 55 mph or when you hit a bump that excites the resonat frequency. There is a stearing stabilizer that helps dampin the resoance, that usally goes out after 3 years. You can tell when it goes out because the front end shakes vilently at 55 mph.
I was trying to see if anybody else had experienced this violent shaking. I have had the stabilizer bar replaced twice this year and new tires. The front end randomly shakes when hitting a rough patch on the interstate. The problem has made me slow down to a speeds I can recover after the shaking. Anthing above 55 mph is really stressful.

My 07 which I love to death, and treat like my second child, just blew. I have changed oil, all differentials and transfer case regularly. I bought it when it first came out, and have had it in the shop for every recall. NOW WHAT? I think I am past my warranty bc I have 75,000 mi on it. Has anyone had similar problems? I am so upset. I love my jeeps, but they keep failing me. I was planning on saving this one for my son.

07 has a bad rear main seal leak. this thing only has 36750 mi. its had all the other problems I've been reading about except for the death wobbles. however on the freeway if you hit any bumps you do get the bad scissor efect, but that's just a product of this type of coil over suspension. I've also had the altenater not charge, shut it off, tune it back on, and all be good again. happened in a bad snow storm in the dark, good thing its a stick and I was rolling down hill. my question is does anyone know if the v8 conversions are having the same issues. my wife loves this thing and theres on way she will let me get rid of it.

No, the transition year was 2007 when the radical changes took place. Now we've sacrificed luxury for functionality. I'll keep my 06 4.0 will run forever too.

FIAT now owns Chrysler. Jeep is a jeep provided its old school. 4.0 the "bugs" haven't been worked out of the systems yet. Too many computers operating too many things that we could do. It's a bumpy bone haring ride but, that's what a jeep is. So by adding all the refinements it became a POS and I hate to say it but look at the jeep numbers... No not performance the resale values. Like an 06 rubicon with 4.0 L and 137,000 miles for the same price as a 2010 Sahara with 14,000 miles. The word is out old jeeps are the future new tj and Jk are for junk pile. Sorry. Perhaps pull the engine and computer and then... It will be worth something again. Stability control, abs, hill start?? For heavens sakes its a wrangler. Want refinement get a liberty or a compass.

Sorry to hear of the bad luck. Try to sell it to a dealer that sells jeeps and get any year before 2007! Seriously ! They are harder and harder to find the 4.0l has ran for me personally in 3 of my last 4 jeeps 390, 412 and whopping 526,000 miles that was in a 92xj or the Cherokee. And almost all parts including body tub is available from a lot of vendors. I like personally dealing with quadra-tec. They are the best. Happy future trails
