You should go to your local auto parts store and get a Haynes or Chilton service manual. It will come in handy many times. It will tell you how.

Well John, where is your advice for Robert? At least I pointed him in the direction to get the job done. Everyone should have a Chilton/Haynes manual for their vehicle. There is a lot of useful information in them.
I am sure your sarcasm helped him out though so he probably doesn't need a manual anymore.

No. I don't. I could go out and remove mine right now if I had to though. I just never had to so I don't know.

Thanks! See that is helpful but not very true. Mine does though. On page 11-16 in Chapter 11 Body.

Sorry, I just read it's for a 2005. My manual is for 93 - 04. But it is in mine.

Typically, the cheap platic handle on the glove box breaks at the top of the handle. Its hard to see unless you lie upside down in the passenger seat and shine flash light up into the handle. You will notice that it is pressing a black lever up to open the glove box. Use a screwdriver to simply push it all the way up and the glove box will open. Now, you have to remove all the screws inside the glove box and pull it open to expose the mechanism. Take it out and replace the broken handle. Be very careful to not lose the little black cyliner that is the thickness of the end of a toothpick. it holds the plastic lever in place to the locking mechanism. Lose it and your got to make something to replace it. Careful here. Good luck.

I recently purchased a '04 Grand Cherokee, not Limited. I discovered it has a glove box off and on switch and bulb but no wire harness plug in sight to connect to switch. Can someone tell me if this vehicle is suppose to be equipped with a glove box light or not.

Saw info regarding radiator fan not coming on. Suspect one of the relays. Can anyone tell me if it could be the low fan or high fan and how could you test any one of those relays to see if they are good before purchasing.

Actually my 05 GC has a glove box handle with a small finger pointing at the lock mechanism and it enters the latch bar to move it down to open the box. Since it is plastic and only about 1/8 inch wide, it failed. There is no way to press the black latch bar unless the box is open. The only way to open the box quickly is by putting a screwdriver in at the top edge of the box and prying it open. A little crude but effective. Now I have to repair the finger with some locktite and it will be good to go for another 10 years.
