I have to criticise your piece here, Ford completely did not understand what it bought when it took on Jaguar, it forced Jag engineers to use the Lincoln chassis and install Ford know how in a mark of cars that wasn't suited to it hence the first S-Type's got slated by you Journo's for being to soft and no guts! Then you go on to tell us the price is too high at $55.000 well aren't you lucky to be able to buy this car XF in V8 version for such a small price!!!! I just took delivery of my 3 litre XF and the price over here????$92.000!! Then you go on to say there isn't much space in the back!!! Well I don't know how big you are but for most normal sized human beings there's a lot of space or shall I say as much or more than any BMW Mercedes or Audi. As we all know Ford only tried to out do General Motors when it bought Jaguar so lets hear the real side of the story not the hype. Then I will add another little snippet for you when Ford bought Jaguar the XJ42 was ready on the drawing board they deemed it too expensive and scapped the plans for it to be revamped as the Aston Martin DB7 and to sell the same car $40.000 dearer all jag engine steering and running gear etc etc!! Bravo Ford how clever was that!!

I agree with Percy from France. But since Jim is not a 'cutting edge' journo anymore, he thinks a barge is about what everyone needs to call it a spacious back seat.
And as for Tata (having more money than brains), Jim, I did not see you critics label Ford or Chrysler such, when clearly they have diluted their own legacy, their own brands, others acquired thru reckless abandon and ... forget it. You need to retire as you just cannot fathom the turning point we are at when it comes to this specific brand- Jaguar. Your piece on the Tata acquisition met with much furore, and I hope your editor rations your choice of words as judiciously as we need to ration gasoline. |

My 1994 Seville gets better mileage. And it sure was a cheaper buy.

...and you couldn't pay me to be in a 94 Seville. I'd sooner walk.

Sorry, but the XF is kind of generic looking if you ask me. Looks like a Lexus or something that can be bought for less and run better, longer.

Looks like an XJR that hit a Volvo.
What do they call it, a Jolvular? |

|
No, more like a Jaguvo.
Hideous. |

After having taken one of these on a test drive, my one word review on this car is "silly". It appears to have been conceived as a plaything for fat old men who need an overt expression that they are still virile.
Didn't Mr. Mateja like this car? |

Jim, You can make truck loads of money only when you have brains. Tata made that and you know how Ford blew it.
Now Jim, who has brains and who doesnt Probably you can answer it with your intellectual capacity. Probably!!!!! |
