Good, get rid of that old car. It was originally based on the Ford Contour platform (right down to the original 2.5L DuraJunk engine) and even the 3.0L DuraJunk engine has been shown the door by the daily rental fleets. No one is even dumb enough to buy Jaguar from Ford....looks like they'll have to sit on that turd.

The 3.0L X-type cars built after 2005 are actually great cars. Most of the earlier problems were corrected. I agree with the previous comment that the 2.5L engine was lame and therefore never did well in the US. As the competition advanced rapidly in technology and stanard gadgets, the X-type didnt and the sales bottomed out. Sadly, this 2009 X-type looks great, and the interior and technology is finally inpar with the competition. Too bad it came too late for those in the USA. The damage has been done.

Really... they're not grat cars, I work with them everyday. The new XF is far superior, and hopefully it cuts down on the rifraf
