I have a 2006 NPR that has no throttle when you drive over 50 miles per hour.I just replaced fuel filter and housing and replaced fuel pressure limiter about three mounts ago.truck idles good and has check engine light on.code is fuel rail pressure low.I'm thinking of replacing fuel pressure sensor next to limiter but not sure if that will fix it.any ideas?

sounds like a egr valve very common on these. I have three of these trucks and have done the egr in two of them by 80,000.

My 2006 is in the shop right now haveing the fuel tank replaced. The tank rusts and clogs up the fuel system. Aparently it is a common problem. sounds like yours. I pushed back hard on Isuzu, they paid for everything but the fuel flush. Now fighting with dealer over that.

try looking at the pigtail that goes from the fuel pump to the connector on top of the pump. might be bad.

Hi Thanks for posting on this site -- Aside from providing good maintenance records, do you have any advice on how to approach Isuzu about covering this for my own NPR?

Bought a used 2006 Isuzu NPR, nice truck except for the nagging fuel problems. Had the truck towed several times and gone through a bunch of primary fuel filters, nothing changes. Spoke to the dealer today and gave me an estimate of $3800.00 to change the fuel tank, transfer pump, fuel pump and blow out system. Has anyone been able to get isuzu to pay for the repair?

I have a 1999 NPR and I have put 5 fuel pumps in the last seven months. Is there something else that could be causing my problem?

2007 U.S. GOVERMENT lowered sulfer amount in diesel fuels. sulfer was lubricating the fuel tank, lines, injectors, fuel pump, etc. now if you belive you have fuel related problem replacing the fuel tank with new one isn't solution. in time problem repeed it self.you have to have aliminum or plastic tank. when you replacing the tank you must blow of all dirt from the lines with pressured air. while one person blowing the tank other person has to push fuel plunger up and down. to make sure no rust or dirt in lines.what i did is go home depot and bought 1/2 copper pipe to replace original fuel line. so it would be 100% clean.

BEN i didn't know 2006 isuzu npr has transfer pump. check with your dealer again man. this trucks has only fuel injection pump which is sucks the fuel from tank and incrise the pressure to 3500 psi and send it to injectors.that is it.

now the DAN T. dan check with your truck if it has governer insatlled( speed limiter). some truck owner do not want their driver pass 50mph.if you don't check with your transmission goes to overdrive.if your RPM higher then 2300rpm when your are cruising around 50 MPH. transmission does not go into overdrive.also not so common but fuel pressure sensor works with gas pedal. if fuel pressure lower then necsesary, doesn't matter how much you push the pedal you won't get any responce.

adrian. if exhaust brake was stuck once it will do it again and again. there is 4 8mm bolts holding it to exhaust pipe around muffler. most of time they are rusted and welded together because of the heat. you must cut them off to sperate them. new exhaust brake around $450 in NY. but a gut selling it for $150 in ebay.listen to me and change it.

Hi i also have a problem with my 2006 euro 3 isuzu nkr 3.0 truck. when cruising over 50mph and over 2000rpm the "engine check" light comes on and i lose power. once the engine revs drop below 2000 and under 50mph the light goes out and i have power again. note the engine does not cut out the engine does not respond to the accelerator. if i press clutch and accelerate the engine revs up 3-4.5 thousand rpm as if theres no problem.the fault analyzer showed P0216 code and so far i have changed fuel filter. there is ample fuel at injector pump. the filter on inlet at injector pump is clean and i have placed clips on all fuel hose lines. please help.

I had a problem with my truck. It ended up there is a very small filter inside the bolt that treads into the lift pump. On the side where the fuel comes from the fuel filter. Its hard to find. Take out the bolt, look in the treaded end. There is a plastic screen that is threaded into the end of the bolt. Hope this helps.
