I own a 2006 G35 Coupe with Bluetooth. When I use the phone system no one on the other end can hear me very well. Does anyone know how to turn up the in-car phone microphone? I know the Lexus IS350 has a secret diagnostic mode which can control its volume and so does the Infiniti M35/45, but so far I have found nothing on the G35 and the dealer has been no help.

Thanks

I have a 2006 and have the same issue. Contacted Infiniti and they don't have an answer to this either. Appreciate hearing from anyone who has figured it out.

I have the same issue on my '06 g35 coupe. The only way I can get around it is to turn my head and try to speak into the microphone. And don't bother trying to make a call if it's raining!

I use the Motorola E815 with my 2006 G35 Coupe and I rarely have this problem, but have had this too. If they're not hearing me I just speak louder or turn my head slightly.

It seems that this is generally a phone issue and not an G35 or Infiniti or Nissan bluetooth problem. People of all makes and models of both cars and phones are complaining of the same issue. I don't think you'll even find many bluetooth headsets that have a separate microphone volume control -- my plantronics doesn't.

Depending on which phone you have, it may have a setting or tool to increase the bluetooth volume. Here's a discussion for Moto's: http://forums.mobiledia.com/topic46942.html

One other suggestion from an Infiniti tech posting was to turn down the phone volume in the car if you can hear them okay, so the echo cancellation in your phone doesn't have as much work to do.

my bluetooth is basically unuseable in my 07 g35 coupe...when people call me they can't hear me at all and hang up--if i call them they can hear me a bit but it breaks up constantly so i have to wait until i'm out of the car to call them back....my phone is a Treo700...thoughts anyone??

i've also had the car in for service twice for a constant high-pitched droning noise that i first started hearing around 65 mph--now i hear it at speeds down to 20 but the dealer tells me it's road noise from the pricey michelins--anyone else have this issue? i didn't have this in my 03 g35..thx

I just bought an 07 coupe and tried the bluetooth with a Palm treo 700p. I'd be interested to know if anyone with this type of phone found a resolution.

My 06 G35 has been in for blue tooth related microphone issues too. So has my sister's Infinity and my neighbor's as well. We receive great but people tell us we sound like we are in a tunnel and garbled...

I hear Infinity may recall the units....

I have the same issue in my 2006 QX56 with both phones. Blackberry Pearl and Samsung. I have discussed this with the dealer with no solution. Typical Nissan/Infiniti crapy customer service after the purchase.

We have a 2006 FX35 ... phone worked fine until we upgraded to ATT Blackjack phone. When using the bluetooth to call out ... big problem. But incoming calls are OK. Outgoing calls are ok if we dial them manually.
Wish Infinity would figure this one out.

I have the 2007 G35X sedan, same problems with a Sansung. A friend of mine has the M45, same story. Its time for Infiniti to step up and fix this!

I have an Infiniti QX56 and I have the same problem with my car Blue Tooth Sytem...which, unforunately, makes the system unable to use with any confidence! Ilive in Ca. and it is now a law to have a hands free phone, while driving(duh!!)
But my 55,000 car is a big dissapontment in this area. I will say, my service reps are GREAT and they are trying to help me, but to no avail! Hopefully Infiniti will come up with a solution and fix this problem...yes?

Same problem with my 2008 G35. My phone (which is on the approved list) pairs up beautifully, and I receive calls without a problem. When I make calls, though, I can hear them fine, but the recipient of the call can't hear me at all. Cust service says that it is the "software version" on my phone. Any suggestions?

Re: 2006 G35 Coupe. I have been complaining to Infiniti about the problem of sounding like I'm in a vacuum or in outer space when calling someone. The answer I get is always the same... there's nothing wrong with the blue tooth. I've upgraded my cell phone 3 times and two of the phones were listed as compatable. All had the same problem! It's not the phone, it's the blue tooth technology. If I use a headset, the listener has no problem hearing me. The microphone is in the oddest location so when you're driving, you're not talking into it. My observation... the microphone needs to be relocated and a stronger mic needs to be used.

I have a 2006 G35 Coupe also and I use a Razor phone. I have no problems with people hearing me or me them, instead my phone disconnects after approx. 45 seconds. Every call is the same, clear, loud and the way it should be, then it cuts back out after 45 and the music on the radio starts playing again. I need to work with the voice recognition also as it has trouble understanding when I try to make calls. I wonder if someone took a cone shaped drill countersink and made the hole where the mic is cone shaped would work.

Terry F for your voice recognition you need to be a quite plase with limited noise. It is so sensative that it pick up any noise and it distorte the VR.
