Our 2007 Honda Odyssey drivers side passenger door only closes half way and then opens back up. Nothing is blocking the door at any point. this is very frustrating. Any ideas?

Hi, whoever posted this, THANK YOU SO MUCH. This really works. My passenger slider on my 2001 Honda Odyssey has been none operable for about a month. My husband has been trying putting off fixing it because he thought he would have to tear apart the door and he wasn't sure how to get the panel off, I had time today to Google the question and we found this post. 6-26-2011.

Hi Bob,
The same thing happened to me this past Saturday Feb. 18th. Try doing the following:
1.) Disable the power door switch on the left dashboard.
2.) Remove the power door fuses located under the front passenger leg area.
3.) Manually open and close both sliding doors.
4.) Restore the power door fuses located under the front passenger leg area.
5.) Enable the power door switch on the left dashboard.
6.) Try opening the sliding doors.

Hi Steve,

Removing fuse #13 worked perfectly for my 2001 Odyssey passenger door...!!!! Thank you!!! I'm sure that would have cost me at least $400 at the Dealership.

Take care and God Bless...

So I just tried this and it did not work....I am super sad. My passanger side sliding door on my 2007 Odyssey just decided to stop working. It worked one minute to open and then when i went to close it, just didn't work. I removed the fuse (it was actually #8) and it did nothing. I also removed number 2 from under the hood as my manual said it was for the doors, that didn't work either. Any other ideas??? I do not have money to take this to the dealership.
Thanks!

I tried to the fuse suggestions on a 2001 Odyssey and did not solve my problem, which was that the sliding door buzzer came on when the car was in gear. Also, when the door was shut, the buzzer lasted about 10 seconds, which suggested to me that the door had not latched completely. What finally worked for me was to repeatedly press the brass male-side pins on the inside of the door back and forth. They are enclosed in plastic cylinders within a rubber collar that felt a bit stiff. I think this loosened them up a bit and appears to have solved the problem. After seemed to have a positive effect, I give them a squire of WD-40 for good measure and then wiped the top of the pins clean.

We have a 2001 Honda Odyssey with Power sliding doors. The problem is that the doors do not stop when closing if something or someone is in the way. I have pushed on the leading edge of the door and not been able to stop the door. Ok, I can overpower the motor and stop the door although that much force would really hurt my 2 year old. How do I fix the safety switch? There has to be a safety switch.

I cannot open my drivers side door on my 2003 Odyssey. I tried the remedy below but still won't open. I cannot even open manually, so I am thinking it may be related to the gas tank sensor. Any ideas?

I hava a 2002 Honda Odysee and I noticed yesterday that one of the sliding doors will not close all the way. You can hear the motor running and I have to push on the back of the door to get it to close all the way. There is nothing jamming the door and the track looks clear. Any suggestions?

Have had the problem 1) with the door not wanting to close all the way, and 2) the door seemed to be closed but the alarm would sound intermittently while driving. In one case, the dealer found a broken switch (which resolved the issue for about $120) and in the other case, they did an "alignment" for about $100, which also resolved the issue.

I've also had someone try to open the door while trying to pump gas. There's an interlock that automatically locks the driver's side door when the fueling door is open. Once the sliding door was somehow opened with the fuel door open, the sliding door acted like it had died. Closing the gas cover door and manually opening and closing the sliding door brought it back to life.

Those folks whose batteries are running down because of an open door or the interior light rocker panel switch have another, different electrical issue. The interior lights should automatically shut off after just a few minutes (or at least they do in in my 2001 Oddyssey!). I've been saved by that feature more than a few times.
