Has anybody heard of motor mounts going bad? I was told by my service advisor they are hydralic and my was apparently leaking and needed to be replaced. Against my better judgment (but it is the car my wife and kids are always driving around in) I had them replace it for around $350. I also had them put the "bad part" in a box so I could see it. My leak was not even a trickle. Can anybody confirm or deny I got screwed on this?

Motor mounts go bad. If it even had a trickle that means it has been torn. Did they replace side and front? Both are hydraulic and if it was leaking long enough,it may actually be out of fluid. I dont think you got screwed. Common repair

Hello Fred, I just bought a 2000 honda van. When you take off from a stop sign you could here a noise under the drivers side seat. They replace the motor mount and problem solved. Apparently the engine would lift up under acceleration enought that the transmission would hit the floor board. No cost on my part and it didn't take them very long to fix it. It must be a common problem. Hope this helps.

I had my rear mount replaced already (just out of warranty so they covered it). Now they say two more are leaking. What's the deal? This shouldn't be a "common repair". These should last a really long time.

I have a 2005 Odyssey and too have problems with bad motor mounts. I think this was diagnosed soon as it was out of warranty, but I didn't do anything about it and the van is running fine. A bit of a vibration at times, but overall ok. I"ll probably get them fixed, but apparently this seems to be an inherent problem.
\How about the timing belt/ When does this need to be replaced?

See my June 2 post. I took it to the dealer and also called Honda Southwest (or whatever the regiional thing is). The dealer eventually gave me the motor mounts for "cost" w/o labor. Roughly half off. Better than a poke in the eye, but still close to $400.

My honda 1999 odyssey, sometimes when I stop and then I hit the gas, feels like it does not move, them it takes off a little be fast.
dealer told me to replace engine mounts (front and side).Flush brake fluid, power steering fuid, timung belt sparks plugs. timing belt, water belt and drive belts and brakes (which I replace a year ago) for the total of $3200.
Do I really need all this? I think is a litte be to much. thanks. Car has 99.000 milles.

I just replaced all the motor mounts on my 99 Oddysey. Van was fine, sent it in for brake service, they tell me all my mounts were broke. Basically had no choice. The place supposedly went 1/2s with me and only had to pay $305 for all mounts replaced.

Before they were replaced, once you got over 3,000 rpm you felt the front of the van wobbling like you were in water.
