Is it cheaper to have a repair shop do it in compare to a novice attempting this repair?

In the end it ould be cheape to let the Dealer do it since they cover thier work under warrenty for a period of time where as you would have to take it all apart again on your own if you had any problems afterthe swap out. Proper oil amount (cc's of oil) in each tube is critical and must be masured correctly.
I strongly recommend you visually look at the tubes in the area near the fork seals for any sigs of FLAT surfaces on the chrome tubes caused from wear.
