FI light came on

Has anybody had this happen? When I left work yesterday the fuel injection warning light came on when I started the bike. Everything worked as it always does, smooth idle normal power delivery when I opened the throttle, no roughness or surging, just this indicator light that would not go away. After the 35 mile ride home I discovered that when I put the side stand down, with the engine still running, the light began to blink. The blinking had a pattern that repeated over and over. Two long flashes then three short ones. I suspect this is an error code that may help me fix the problem. Does anyone know if this is correct? If so where can I get the list of codes? I thought about buying a Honda service manual but if there is a less expensive source I would probably try that first.

Thanks for any help you can give me.
