Obviously Mike Guy did not do any research to determine the DNA of the E-Type Jag.
The E-Type was not as simplistic as Mike Guy described, "British maker Jaguar had been turning out eye-catching luxury saloons at a modest pace until it hit upon the E-Type".
Jaguar had been developing and racing 'C' and 'D' type 2 seaters and the resultant XK-SS, the predesessor to the E-Type during the 1950's.
