Mike wrote: <quoted text> Jake, I have the same problem. Did you find a fix for that? I also have the same problem with brake lights. I have traced the power to a distribution block just behind the spare tire. I have power going into it when brakes are engaged, but not coming out. I bought a new Distribution block thinking i had found the issue but my brake lights still don't work($40 at dealership). Still looking for resolution.

Hi, did you ever find out what the problem was, y 98 is doing same thing Steve wrote: My antilock brake light comes on and then my heater fan, 4WD, cruise, and rear defrost stops working. Then sometimes the heater fan will come back on but then I turn it down a notch and it goes off again. The next day I will go out and everything works fine again. I just got this truck so I dont know what some one else did to it. I know it has a trailer brake installed on it. Maybe a bad ground, or relay??? All the fuses look fine, but I dont know how to check a fuse. I dont have a clue as to where to start looking for a bad ground. I checked the battery terminals they all are tight and clean. I hope some one can help me before I burn down the dealers car lot.

my 2003 gmc sierra 1500 4.8 normally on the first start of the day it runs rough like it wants to stall and my check engine flashes and if i dont stomp it to get goin then my check engine will stay on but after that it runs like a champ all day, weather the light stops flashing or stays on. ive changed the plugs and wires, fuel filter, intake manifold gasket, cylinder 6 seems to be missing more than the rest so i swapped coils and injectors to different cylinders to no avail a mechanic recommended a valve job but i only have 82,000 miles on the truck, so that seemed a little premature. HELP!!!!!!!!!!

They made the filter in the tank better to handle the dirt. I assume the '05 crew cabs are the same I've traced the fuel lines front to back and cant find the filter anywhere. It has to be in the tank

Could this be true? I can shift it into 4wd and can hear the transfer case(?) ingage(grinding noise, I think its normal)but the front wheels dont lock in. Another person told me that it could be electrical, the shaft is not engaging the splines for the front axles. Does the shaft engage electrically? I dont know much about 4x4s so I hope I explained it right. Thanks. This is the same thing that has happened to my Z71, I once fixed it by re wireing the lead hot wire. I now have to go back and do it again...

It also thumps whenevr the engine is turned off. I am thinking it is with the fuel system but the local dealer mechs are stumped. Have had the truck die on me while traveling 65 mph and have to quickly put into neutral to start again before steering locks up. I'd appreciate any positive feedback. truck is a great workhorse besides this problem. On my '91 the same symptoms are in the heater assembly and I chose to live with it rather than spend $300.

For me the problem comes and goes as there are periods when it shifts OK. I am thinking a sensor is bad or flakey. When present it is worst under very light accleration. During hard acceleration and when towing a trailer it is OK. Warranty work did nothing to change it - they both reset the settings and re-programmed the firmware. I am out of the warranty period now so am living with it although it appears no one knows how to fix it anyway. We have the exact same problem. I was wonder if you ever managed to find the problem, or does the truck still run fine?

Ken, I am having similar issues with a 01 Silverado. have you had any luck with a fix? Intersitingle enough, my problem goes away when I connect a trailer! Sounding like a ground issue but I can't get if sorted out. T Ken wrote: Problem with brake, signal lights I have a 2002 Silverado 2500 HD duramax. When I put on the turn signal it works fine but when I touch the brakes all clearance lights come on including the brake lights also when on the hiway in cruise control and put the left turn signal on the cruise cuts out. I have spent 200.00 at the local Chev dealer they cannot find the problem and GM dosn;t have a solution. Anybody no of this problem any help would be appreciated.

Valeria Ellis wrote: It is me again, after reading your comments. I have more questions. I had to have my rear end replace last year. I thought it was due to my truck locking up on the freeway due to my new transmission being done by a bad auto repair shop. The sounds some of you heard when shifting to drive, I also heard. I thought it was the U joint and asked my husband if it could be that. My husband thought I was wrong and dimissed the question. My husband passed away last year and I don't have anyone to ask. Is there anyone out there who GMC truck had transmissions problems and rear ends replaced. My fuel indicator doesn't work and the cost is nuts to repair? One more problem the senor or the 4 wheel drive to be service will not go out and I have had it repaired several times. Yes, yes, yes...I had my exhaust replaced for my 01 Silverado which resulted in plenty of resonance vibration etc..GM solution install a flex hose which costs $500+CDN. Next Day my loud popping sound on turns....from the back end. Guess what spider gears in the differential completed gone. Another $1100+CDN...good by GM.

When thr truck shifts from 1st to 2nd gear the entire truck kind of pops forward into gear. 2nd to 3rd it does the same, but not as rough. Is this an issue that will be ongoing and should I return the vehicle and have them replace it. It is a $40k vehicle and way to new to be in the shop already. Do I have any rights to return it? Please help. I need to get something done soon. Return it while you still can! You will never get the $value if you try to trade it in later. Botton has fallen out of truck market.

Intermitant Cluster problems in my 1999 Chev Silverado with 200,000K. This was the first year of the new Chev truck change over. For 3 years now (at 130000k) the cluster panel has been intermitantly diplaying the air bag light, ASB light, and the message center is showing/flipping the security, battery, and low fuel message. These lights as I mention are flashing on and off constantly while I drive. Also to top it off the the gear selection indictor and mileage turns is not displying. Also the feul level guage stays at empty. Every once and a while eveything returns to normal for a day or two, but for 80% of the time the whole system is wacked out. The dealships don't seem to be able fix the problem and have spent hundreds trying to resolve. A real pain...losing faith in Domestic trucks.
Can anyone tell what the solution is here?
