had same problem with a chevy 2002 blazer. arm on release motor that contains the tip that goes into the window release mechanism broke off. looks like all you need is the piece with the tip that slides into the release arm but have to buy the whole assy. slotted and glued 2 pieces of plastic to arm and slid a piece of plastic into the space left by the 2 pieces of plastic. dried, screwed motor assy back on frame and drilled a whole into the plastic i added and placed a 1/4" plastic rod into the whole and cut the top off and left about 1/4" pertruding above the bracket. works great. ron

Can someone post photo as to "how to open the rear panel" due to electric hatch failure? Certainly appreciate it.

I have a 2001 GMC Jimmy, There isn't a way, short of taking off the panel to open the rear glass, I ended up cutting off a section of the interior panel around the "hump" covering the window latch. I used a knife and put it into the little vertical slot and jigled around untill i found the lever and she opened. The screws to take off the entire panel are on the sides of the lower door.

I had the same problem with my 95 blazer. Just remove the panel by the screws located on the side of the tailgate, the problem was a bad actuator which pulls the lever to open the glass hatch. Once you take off the panel, remove the metal shield on the tailgate and the actuator will be mounted on the back of it.

There are several ways to open the hatch on blazers and jimmys. You can try to release by inserting a small screwdriver and pushing left using the entry hole in the rear hatch deck just below the plastic trim in the center. This works ok unless the latch is out of alignment. The quicker way to release the window lock is to pull the center of the plastic trim (where it rises) toward the inside of the car and break the plastic trim attachment. Remember first to remove the hatch handle.By pulling away from the window, you can then insert a finger between the two walls of the lock assembly and push down. The window will open immediately. Ignore the broken trim attachment as there is plenty of support for the top of the door trim piece. Unbolt the 9/32 panel screws and the two phillips head side screws and the panel will come off. Careful of the rods clipped to the panel. They come off easily as does the hatch door activator. Rather than have to buy an actuator because the blue piece of plastic broke, replacements are available at online auto supply stores. Remember to make sure that the lever of the actuator hits the window release mechanism squarly. A little bending with pliers will align these two pieces so they strike evenly.

I have a 2000 Gmc Jimmy 4x4 w/4.3l v-6... I recently did a motor swap and when i go to turn the key i get nothing from the ignition the lights come on but the starter doesn't crank... if i bypass the ignition the motor will turn over but it won't start the fuel pump doesn't engage except when i turn the key to the off position the pump turns on and then off and pressure jumps up to about 45psi.... oh yeah and the key won't release from the ignition and the security light flashes... what i've read up on the passlock is the issue for alot of this but i can't find it anywhere on the forums about it being the reason for the fuel pump not working except when the key is being turned to the off position.... any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated... thanks

I have a 2000 jimmy and my electric hatch opener doesn't work but I can still open the hatch from the out side by pushing in the key hole and pulling up on the glass at the same time, anything around the same year should be the same

well, Mikedajudge's screwdriver trick worked but when i close the window i have to keep going back and opening it manually with the screwdriver. the trunk motor sounds off but it wont release the glass.

Change the horn fuse. Its a 15amp fuse. It did that on mine 2 times. Fixed it both times
