You need to check with a dealer in your area. There is a service "issue" on the speed cluster. You'll need the VIN number. I called today and they are fixing mine FREE. I have a 2004.

Apparently it is against the law to have an inoperative speedometer....When I was pulled over for speeding....(going with the flow of traffic cuz my speedometer quit working on my 2005 Yukon)I informed the officer who gave me a ticket for speeding (42 in a 30) and a warning for an inoperative speedometer....

I have a 2003 GMC Yukon, and the tacometer and speedometer are both pegged. Figured I'd add my comment to illustrate just how cronic this issue seems to be with this car

I have a 2003 Chrysler Voyager. The speedometer went to the wrong side of the pin and does not move. Any idea of costs and the best way to go?

2003 GMC Yukon, Speedometer just pegged and is now stuck at 120 mph. Great.
And of course my car is out side of the handy 70,000 mile free fix. Looks like im eating this one.
Thanks GMC

I have an '04 Yukon SLT with 91K on it. Speedometer went out 2 years ago. Stuck on 40 mph. Local guy couldn't repair it. Said to go to a dealer to see if there's any recall. Never got any letter informing me of a recall... now it's too late. Think I'll try the battery post idea.

This has been getting progressively worst in my 2003 Yukon. I pulled the fuses (10A) underneath the hood and then turned the engine to accessory until it reset itself. It's still messed up, but it's livable for a week or so until it needs to be reset. I noticed the issue first started when I used my cruise control, so that's the fuse/relay i am going to look into next.
Has anyone had problems with the shitty deck going out? I have owned 2 GM vehicles that had delpi head units and they both have gone out. By gone out I mean they quit playing cd's and sometimes lockup all together. I also fixed this by pulling the fuse..
Hope this helps.. Hit me up devdunham@gmail.com

my speedometer is out on a 2005 Yukon, per a St. Louis dealer today, GM knows of this problem and will replace the "cluster" free if your car is under 80,000 miles. The dealer will then charge only labor to repair - I was told that would be about $150.

Of course I am over 80,000 Thanks GM for letting your customers in on the problem! We are in the market for a new car and will certainly remember this customer first service

I was driving on Hwy 94 -speed limit 65 mph, and I sense something isn't right. Speedometer shows 60 mph and I'm screaming past cars/trucks. It slows down to 35 and I'm still passing people. I stop at rest stop and restart, all seems fine for apx. hour. Now it shows 45 and passing cars again? My vehicle is 2005 Yukon with 145,138 miles. Just GMC serviced failed 4x4 computer motor?

My son's Tahoe speedometer went out and was told it was a problem. Now, our 2005 Yukon went out at 60,000 miles. Need to call and get it fixed. I will be calling GM first.

We have a 2003 Yukon XL. Our issues have progressively gotten worse. It started out as just the speedometer, but this weekend on a trip, our oil pressure gauge maxed out. Scared me until I took a minute to think about it... and call my brother. Called the dealership this morning and it is going to cost us about $500 to fix. Nice!!!!

I have a 03 Yukon XL too, and our speedometer is acting up as well. Started a few weeks ago, very intermittent until this past Monday. Is stuck on 65 and will go all the way up to 120. Up until this point would get stuck, then would "fix" itself and work correctly. I have a buddy who's works at My Mechanic, says it's a faulty Instrument Cluster sensor-$480.00 part. We have 81K miles on it, anyone heard of a better solution or does this sound about right? Haven't called GM yet because we bought it used 2 years ago.

like to add that all other gauges working fine at the moment. Just wonder if it's just isolated to the speedometer, or does it progress to something else?

I have a 2003 Yukon and I seem to be in the same boat as everyone else. My speedometer isn't functioning properly anymore. The problem started about a month ago. That was secondary to my oil pressure gauage and fuel guage problem. Those guages don't work either. It seems that my entire panel isn't working. At least my Tachometer is still working. That is the only way I can estimate how fast I'm going right now. I have already checked all my fuses and that isn't the problem. I'm scared to take it into the dealer for fear that the bill is going to be enormous. Any suggestions on how to reset or find a mechanic who can fix the problem for way less than the dealer. Our local dealer can sometimes (no, most of the time) be a ripoff. I have 133K miles on it right now.
