I have the same year truck and the same problem and I have no idea what it is but it is really annoying when you are trying to go to work and it does that making you late. It seems like something with the fuel pump... no idea what though

My 2007 Canyon will usually start and after running for a few minutes, I shut it off it will spin but will not start. Haul it to the garage and it will start. Sets no maintenance codes. Has don this twice and still don't know why. Two months to the day between failures.

Starting issues can be caused by dirty throttle bodies, defective ignition switch. For further information go to www.355nation.net

check your battary connection. I was told the problem is the bad connection will some times send a bad singel to the antitheif which will shut the fule pump off becasue it thinks it being stolen...clean the posts and wait ten minutes. should slove the problem.

I have a 2008 GMC Canyon and I have 3 instances in the past year that it would not start after having been driven, stopped and restarted and then failed to start, waited 10-15 minutes and it restarts. I have a home in Mexico land it failed to start...this could be problematic depending when and where in the event of a future failure. My local GMC dealer had it overnight and could not find a problem.

I have an 06 canyon and it has something to do with the weight of the keys in your key chains. And how you jiggle the key when you turn it over

I have a 2005 canyon I just took in on trade. Runs great but every so often, it just won,t start. Rolls over just fine ,but no go..Wait 15-20 minutes and away we go..Very aggravating and time consuming when on a schedule...Just have a class action suit on GM..
i definitely think something should be done since its obviously a fairly common problem. my husband bought his truck used in feb 2012 and it only happened once up until last month. now its happening all the time. wont start, ten minutes later, fires right up. took it to our mechanic and found nothing wrong with it. very frustrating.

My dads does the same thing. I can't believe how many times I found posts like these with no solution. I have heard a few times it is the weight of the keys and a alarm or door lock problem. What I don't understand is why hasn't GMC done anything about it.

I have a 09 GMC canyon 4cyl 4 wd . Went to start vehicle and all of sudden the engine light came on loss of power , traction indicator came on and a loss of power was evident to where it would not go up a hill..900 dollars later they fixed the engine throttle and excerator pedal "replace" . ran for three days engine light came on but truck ran normal. took back and after three weeks they got the computer reset and light was off and truck ran fine. 3 days latter light back on. they said they can't fix it don't know what the problem is and told me to take it to the dealer. I gave up drove it for a month with the light on no problems. after spending 580 for my wife's car for tires my truck again has loss of power lights they all came back on and i'm broke down between two hills. Tow truck comes to tow to the dealerer and he is able to drive it up the steep incline on the roll back. dealer states it will be a while, thanks to SANDY.and a back up of vehicles. Should I start going back to church.

Been doing this on and off for 2 years, seems to do it more often when it gets colder. This is really annoying.
