If you buy a 1970's through 1980's and EVEN POSSIBLY even newer, Toyota pickup, in a few years the body and frame will rust out and the truck will literally break in half!!!!! I cannot tell you how many toyotas i saw like this while help out a friend at his used truck lot, working on these Toyotas. I would see things like metal welded to the frames to patch the rusting frames, boards put between the cab and bed to help support the rusty and highly flexly rotted frame, and one fellow who was trying to "restore" his old 1970's Toyota 4 wheel drive, took the bed off and was backing it up after he took the bed off, and the truck broke in half and left him looking at the sky through his windshield!!!! Sold it for JUNK!!!
Funny,i have a 1970, Dodge Long bed 2 wheel drive Pickup, 1978 Dodge power wagon, 4X4, and a 1983 Dodge short bed 2 wheel drive, and they ALL have solid frames, and very little rust in the bodies! I DO NOT have to worry about them breaking in half!! And they have all been the very definition of reliable!
I even wrecked my 1978 Power wagon once, the trailer i was towing was imbalanced, and jack knifed my Power Wagon into a ditch and up on it's drivers side, so when we finally got the trailer off of it, we turned it back on it's wheels, i jumped in and it fired up and i drove it home under it's OWN POWER!! RAM TOUGH DODGE INDEED!!! So, DO NOT tell me American Cars and Trucks are no good!
Funny that Toyota lovers will argue with you that they don't prematurely rust. Anybody with observation skills can clearly see otherwise. In canada Toyota trucks rust like 90. In fact some models have been recalled for rusting faster then that! Toyota's have ball joint failure causing several dangerous accidents with 16 people seriously hurt (03 -05 tundras and Seq) investigated currently by NHSTA. Steering yoke failures, Thes same years of tundras have exhaust to close to brake lines rubbing and melting causing brake failure and potential fire! Nice work toyota. Doesn't ANYBODY see the gross exhaust protruding down OVER THE BOTTOM of the rear suspension in most of their vehicles - talk about cheap shit - even a Hyundai tucks the exhaust tight and unsee under the suspension where it belongs (of course Hyundai's quality is ranked higher than Toy) Cheap cheap cheap Did the soccer moms know that the Camry (save the current 2 yr old generation) since it's inception is the poorest performing car in rear end collisions on the market in it's class - rear ender death traps - accords aren't much better. Every guy I know with an 80's to 95 3.0l v6 toyota has had MULTIPLE head gaskets blow! Hello Soccer moms and dumbasses DO YOU PAY ATTENTION!

Bugati the only reason that you are mad about the japanese automakers is because they build and sell better vehicles than any of the american competitors. American Competitors(dont get me wrong) are good cars and trucks, but their quality cannot meet the same standards as the Japanese companies.. personally I am nothing but a Nissan man. I have driven Ford, Chevy, Toyota, Dodge and I just have not had any luck with any of them. I bought an old 1997 Nissan Pickup with 30,000 miles on it and kept it until I got to 289,000 miles. All I ever did to the truck was change the tires, oil and spark plugs. I sold it because I wanted to upgrade to the 2006 Nissan Titan which is a very powerful truck. It beats the Silverado, Ram, Tundra, and F-150. Thanks for your consideration.
Titan trucks are cheap crap - there so great that Nissan isn't making them in 09 perhaps 10 - anyways Nissan will sell a re-badged dodge for a 1/2 ton.

<quoted text> This is true with toyota recall. They do care unlike Chevy and Ford. I have a 87 4Runner with 345k Miles with the original motor and tranny. The only major thing i have replaced is the alternator. Runs like a champ. Call around to local junkyards and find out why their are limited supplies for toyota trucks and SUV. The closest junkyard from Virginia was in California that have a rear window relay for my 4Runner. Called over 40 online junkyards and that was the closest one. Google the F150 and Tundra Video were the tundra drags the f150 across the parking lot. LOL.
And it's a 4 banger too...if you had a 3.0 l v6 you would've replaced about 5 head gaskets by now! Gee it must look like swiss cheeze. How come nobody talks about big miles on the odometer and an actual steel body mostly still there to go with it eh toyota!

Its unfortunate that you small minded american car buyers can't get over the loyalty thing! A few weeks ago, I got side swiped by a teenager, pushed my tacoma over into a ditch (at 55 mph). Every safety item worked like a charm, the front end was destroyed by the hit, I still was abloe to start the engine (crazy noices), put it in 4X4, and let the rear wheel drag me, my wife and what was left of my tacoma out of the ditch....now that's a truck!
Buy japanese...made in the USA!
Have you checked the beauty recalls on your tacoma? your an idiot.

Interesting enough, that person identified as "Camry Junk" has posted this same message in at least 25 other Toyota sites.
Not only that, the ISP used by that person is the same one used with a dozen or so other usernames badmouthing Toyota.
Must have a serious (and perhaps obsessive) hangup about Toyota for someone to do all that just to make a point!!
Makes one wonder about the integrity of anything this person says!!
