Just bought my 88 Turbo Coupe thunderbird for 300 dollars. Its in "Fair" condition according to Kelley. I just wanted to see if anyone knew of any little quick mods or tweaking, if any, I could do to it to hop it up a little bit more. Also What would be some suggestions on the first thing to mod on it...Thanks TR

I used to have a 87 Turbo Coupe in the early 90s. Got upset with it due to the quirks, such as the window falling down inside the door, and difficulty in getting it to idle properly, and traded it in on a Mustang in 1995. Found I was thinking more and more about what a unique vehicle it was a couple of years ago, and went and found a 88 Turbo Coupe, low miles in Virginia last year. Have been restoring it since, and have been having a ball. You were lucky to find one for almost free! I paid more than ten times that! You will get all the help you need on modifications by checking out the Turbo Coupe web site, North American Turbo Coupe Association "NATO" at www.turbobird.com . Don't sell this car! It's one of a kind!-Kent K

i have a 88 turbo coupe that has 100 000 miles and it has a re built top end. the only thing that keeps going wrong is that it keeps blowing the front cam seal because of to much oil pressure. Then there is this realy weird thing that is going on and that is that the car makes a vaccume when the car is running and when you try to take the oil cap off it sucks the cap back down i do not know why does any one have any ideas [email protected]

I have an 87 2.3 turbo coupe that I just picked up on. I am having a problem with the electric fuel pump in the tank not receiving any power with the switch turned on or in the cranking position. I have also checked the inertia switch and it is in the correct position. I think that I have found the fuel relay but with out a good schematic it is hard to tell. If anybody has any ideas or has a good schematic I could track this problem down. Thank You. [email protected]

your pcv valve is bad and that is why it is pulling a vacuum. it must be stuck open which will also let the boost pressure from the turbo build up in the engine till it pushes your cam seal out. replace it with a new one cheap fix.

pcv valve is stuck open vacuum to suck the oil cap and alowing boost pressure to push the cam seal out. buy new pcv valve. make sure it is one for a turbo coup. im not sure if its any different though

The best mods for a Thunderbird Turbo Coupe is NONE. Keep it original! These are rare, and not many are left. Want to buy a Thunderbird to 'mod' get a NON TURBO COUPE/SUPER COUPE. It would be a shame to destroy a TC/SC!

I lost power to the ignition system on my son's 88 turbo coupe. I installed a new ignition module, replaced the ignition switch, and after testing for voltages and continuity at various points I'm wondering if I have a blown fuse link, but I can't find it
