Barrett-Jackson is single handedly responsible for the muscle and collector car bubble. Every bozo with a car from the 70's or so think they have a gold mine. The cars on that show are trailer queens that never get road time and museum pieces, so they get the big bucks. Then it makes dummies justify overpaying for rusty old cars that they'll never get their money out of.

If your not a car enthusiast why did you read the article? I don't think Barret-Jackson is solely responsible for the "car bubble" as you call it. The shows on TLC and Discovery Channel more than likely did that.

Hey, don't judge people without the stack of facts. You misinterpreted the tone of my comment. I was criticizing the bubble, not car collectors. I have a couple of muscle cars myself (bought before the prices went sky high, of course)

No way, man. Those shows where they fix up cars and whatnot have little to do with the cost of cars. If anything, they do an entirely different disservice, they give folks the impression that a resto can happen overnight, when in reality, it could take years and often tens of thousands of dollars.

Barrett Jackson is the one that's showing people with more dollars than sense paying big bucks for cars. With the exception of that one show where they restore the cars to auction them, there is very little going with regard to price.
