My (58,000 miles) 1999 wagon's RPM's increase to over 2 to 2.5 (or more?) for no reason while driving at a steady speed. This starts after driving about 4 miles, and then continues to repeat every once in a while. No increase in acceleration...I just hear it (and feel it) and watch the needle go up and back down. I bought this used a year ago and it has always done it. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Mine does the same thing...sometimes going up to 3 to 3.5. Am also wondering what is causing this and hoping I do not need a new transmission. Any help/thoughts would be appreciated.
