You most likely had a bad experience with a Ford. My hubby drove an F150 for 19 years, even sold it to a friend
who drove it another 5! He now has a '97 F250 & it is just fine. There are some lemons among all makes.

He's got lucky, my 94 Explorer lived up to the FORD motto, FIX OR REPAIR DAILEY. From about 20,000 miles up to 130,000 that POS cost me money every year, 3 HUBS, Breaks every 20-25,000 mile (WHAT A JOKE) Control arm bushing 4x's two radiators, and a number of other misc repairs over the 13 years, Should have dumped it at the end of the warranty but it was paid for and I didn't want another car payment. It would have been cheaper to buy a newer vehicle.
Anyway, That was the LAST FORD or for that matter American made vehicle I will every but.
They are all junk,(MOPAR, GM, FORD)
If you have the money to wasted on them them every few years, then go for it. But if you want a vehicle to last 10+ years or 100,000 - 200,000 miles then you better think about a Toyota, Hyundai, or Honda. You will not be sorry.

Oh, you big bunch of whiners. Good night. I have come to the realization that all products have defects. Why? Because they're made by man and man sure as he|| is not perfect. Get over it. Explorer man...maybe you had to replace your brakes so much because you bought cheap-@$$ brakes! Do you really think Ford has a corner on all brakes made?! No.... Pony up for good brakes and quit complaining.
Toyota's are so great, aren't they? That Tundra was a FLAWLESS launch for them, wasn't it? Those motors were top-notch reliable, not blowing out their bottom ends on the freeways.
Seriously. You aren't number 1 in the top selling vehicle---not truck, VEHICLE---category if you aren't producing a good product. Even with a smaller motor, the F-150 out-tows everything in it's class. Yes, you'll run into problems, but you're going to get that with every manufacturer. Even mighty Toyota (they lost their automatic Recommend from Consumer Reports, too), and venerable Honda.
That's all I have to say about that.

I drive an '02 Hyundai XG350L which i bought new. I've been very happy with this "Flag Ship Car"; has all the bells & whistles. Can't understand why Hyundai stopped making it; or perhaps they just changed the Model name.(?)

Well, you go right ahead and flop down your money on a FORD product. I'd rather take the $$$$ and lose it on the boat vs buy another FORD POS product again.

I agree. My f-150 has 150,000 has NEVER!! given me any problems. Of course the oil gets changed every 3000 miles, and gets regular preventive maintenance. I'm sure there are some lemons too, but I wonder how much maintenance they put into them. And it could tow a house if I wanted it to. I've seen TWO Tundras on the side of the road this week.

Well, I never owned a 150, and maybe they are a better built vehicle, but the Explorer's were nothing more than POS.
