My heat and ac went out. I checked everything and nothing was burned out so I took the blower off and checked it with my battery on my other car. It started blowing immediately, so I need to know what else could it be? An electrical problem? like I said the blower works connected to another battery for testing purposes but when I install it back in my 2000 ford focus..Nothing. any suggestions?

My 2003 Ford escort ZX2 with A/C ..Fan motor blower stopped suddenly ,not running on any speed .. took out the motor (BOSCH)
there was water and a clump of ice in the motor housing when I took it out ..tested the motor ===,it runs perfectly when connected to 12 V DC , when
I put it back in .connected all plugs .checked all inside and outside fuses ,all ok .. motor does not run .. is there another fuse or a resistor of some kind to check ?

2000 Ford Focus SE 4door. I have dashboard lights, but they go out when put into drive and don't come on again. Car is equipped with power door locks that don't work when remote is used, but remote will start car. Also, the interior button to pop-up the trunk is not working. I have to use the key. I have checked the fuses, and just read about fuse#68 or 63? located behind panel??? Does anyone have any answers. Driving at night with no interior lights is frustrating. Everything else is working fine...so far. Thanks, William.
while the lights are there, check the bright dim control for the light to se if it works. if it does, put the car in drive and see if you still have voltage going to that control. if no voltage, you can make yourself a jumper to go from a fuse to that wire. pick one that turns of with the ignition switch. If no voltage, you may have to cut the wire coming into the swich when you rewire. That would mean that the wire is either cut somewhere or is shorting out when placed in gear.

ford book says to check the ground at the switch and the motor, check the blower resistor. If yor freon is low, you will aslo loose your air. Most air conditioners have an on line switch that measaures freon pressure. If pressure gets low, the system stops working. Keeps from ruining the pump.

my fan quit working on all speeds but high...then it quit all together..theres a resistor a little left of the motor blower behind the glove box. i bought one from the dealer for 16.00 dollars and that fixed the problem. Two bolts hold the resistor in the air duct.

I too had the same problem with my blower motor switch failing. I called three ford dealerships in my area of Cedar Rapids,Iowa All of them over $55.00 not exceptable to me found out hey are cheaper at Autozone paid $19.00 Instead of over $50.00. Why is that they serve the same purpose to me just because it doesnt say ford dont mean crap to me. If you find out that the switch only works in the 4 position then It is your thermal resistor switch about $20.00 from ford so hope that helps. 2000 ford ZX3 owner

I have a 2000 Focus. My A/C and heater has stopped working all together. I have no fan either. I changed the A/C resistor behind glove box and checked all fuses. I still have no Air. Can someone please shed some light on the issue. I dont want to take it to the dealer if it is a simple problem. I think it is something simple because the day before it worked fine. The A/C and heater worked perfect just 24 hours before. The next day I had nothing at all. Please help me resolve this issue before i spend tons of money at a dealer who would love to take my money. Thanks in advance for your help

.Hello Stacy .. it is your blow switch for AC/HEATER. At Pep Boys the blower switch is HS324 ..$24.99 + tax. Easy to remove and replace. Will save you over $100 dollars to do it yourself. Hope this helps. I had the same problem. D~

We have a 2000 Ford Focus and we just had the A/C aux. fan go out and the quote we got was 415.00 parts and labor from an independant repair shop. My husband bought an aftermarket one for 68.00 and put it on in about 1.5 hrs. first time to do that. even at dealership rates 415.00 seems too much. Oh yeah we have to fix or repair daily. Well not daily but it seems that when the season change something else will need work. We just got the ignition changed after having to leave a key in it or just pray it will turn and crank. Lord has blessed and it turned after prayer. but cost us 215.00 and 55.00 to have it rekeyed. But the 30mpg makes it worthwhile?!

Thanks for all the posts.
I bought a thermal resistor pack around $20 from ford and so far it seems to like it.

It turns out a squirrel or something made a nest on top the air intake plastic cover so I removed the plastic cover and installed the pollen filter about $9

Like many other FOCUS owners, I have a problem with my heater blower only working at 4... the only thing is that while on 4, my heater blower + headlights will change intensity, my lights will go brighter for a few seconds and then get back as usual, so will my fan, it will blow stronger and then resume to blowing air normaly. Could it be due to the fact that in the final switch position the battery voltage goes straight across the motor, bypassing resistors and thermal fuse network???
Remove the glove box with three screws lower glove box. Depress on both sides and completely remove box. Behind top right is a blue plastic holder with one screw. Remove screw and remove blue holder. You now have your fan speed regulator in hand. On top area is a resistor that needs replacement. I bought it for R 5.50, soldered it in and fan speed 1,2,3 and aircon now working fine. You can pre-test and find that it is blown. This is cause of fan not working on speeds 1,2,3.....Regards

My 2000 ZX3 Focus has had condensation problems to the point of a puddle on the floor of the driver's side. It also has a fuse with seems to short which operates the automatic door lock. The radio has just stopped working, no signal nothing just died. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Wondering if the thermal fuse problem has somehow hit my vehicle also?

Clean your battery cables where they attach to the battery. Mine actually got to the point where the engine would die. Been about a year or so and no more problems.

I have just replaced the heater blower resister and still nothing happens. I had all the usual probs, water in the passenger footwell, no air con, heater working only on 2,3,4, then 3,4, then only on 4 and now nothing. My car is steamier than a sauna only not as hot, I live in Manchester England and it's freezing. Can anyone tell me what to check next. Thanks, Jay.
