IMO Ford was more interested in selling the F-150 and their other SUV models, so they were investing more $$ in advancing the technology in those vehicles. I'm guessing they we're really thinking what to do if the price of gas would increase as much as it has. The F-150 and other SUV models are now dropping in sales quite significantly. So much for being shortsighted.

I have a Jeep Cherokee that was made in the USA for almost 20 years and is almost unbreakable. I have 150,000 on it and I am sure with maintenance it will run for another 100,000.

I read Europe has flat demand for oil because they pay $8 for a gallon of gas. They do not need to drive everywhere, when they have reliable trains and buses.

Yeah but the Focus, Taurus, Sable, Navigator, Ford F- Series trucs, Ranger, Econoline vans, Escape, Marriner, Explorer and Expedition all made here in the US. He don't know sh#t about sh#t D@ck head. So why don't you get the facts. Toyota imported more cars here last year than they built and all Toyota Hybrids are made in Japan including that little Prius. So why don't you shut your pie hole sellout. Ford has been build and supporting America for a 100 years, longer than you been around. So why don't you get a flight over to Japan a celebrate with the dinks you sellout loser scumbag.. |

Europe is also more densely populated than the US. Also smaller cars are more popular in there. |

The famous bullet fails regularly, rest rooms aboard are trash and luggage space is inadaquate.
There are large tracts of france where cars are the only transportation. They mostly drive small diesel cars, very smelly lots of air pollution. ==========

Smaller cars will only become more popular here because people will get tired of paying a lot of $$ to fill the tanks. But for right now Americans love their big gas guzzling vehicles.

To Toyota Sucks: If you want to buy American junk with your hard earned money - go ahead. Run that old beater pickup into the ground that you bought in 1976. When you buy a new one, it will probably have the same parts and technology as your old one. I didn't even have to swear about it!

Toyota makes the Tundra, Tacoma and Sequoia in the USA, by AMERICAN workers. Get out of the 1940s! |

Read the content on the window sticker and let me know where the engine and tranny comes from. They are the only parts listed I'll bet most of the other parts come from plants outside the USA.
I worked for a company that wanted to sell their computers in Brazil and they required they be made there. Well we just shipped all the components to Brazil and assembled them there. Walla the computers were made in Brazil and we sold lots! SAME THING GOING ON HERE AND YOUR TO STUPID TO SEE IT! Oh ya buy a gas guzzerler Tundra instead of a Chev, the Chev gets better mileage. Oh but the Tundra has the wonderful GAY tailgate.. You JAP lovers are STUPID! ==========

Get your facts straight and then we can talk. Toyota makes their Transmissions, V6 and V8 engines in the US (Alabama and West Virginia) Anything else? |

Cars.com :
By most measures, Detroit automakers come out ahead. Auto Trade Policy Council, which represents Detroit automakers, measures domestic-parts content across entire vehicle lineups. ATPC puts the sales-weighted content for GM and Ford close to 80 percent, with Chrysler at 74 percent.(Add Japanese subsidiary Mazda into the Ford mix, and its overall rating falls to 72 percent.) In comparison, Honda's sales-weighted content is 51 percent, with Nissan at 46 percent and Toyota at 40 percent, according to ATPC. Get your facts straight!!! ==========

http://www.toyota.com/about/our_business/oper... In 13 locations across North America, more than 30,000 team members are producing over 1.5 million vehicles, more than 1.3 million engines, and nearly 400,000 automatic transmissions per year. In fact, 11 Toyota and Lexus models are built in North America with parts purchased from hundreds of North American supplier locations. Our annual U.S. spending on parts, goods and services with suppliers totals more than $29 billion and counting, as Toyota continues to grow and build more vehicles, engines and transmissions in North America. Dispute those facts. |

Thank you. I will. I'll drive by and see you stalled on the side of the road. |

You won't!
Was talking to a tow truck driver a while back and I commented all cars are junk. He said ya, he had towed 2 very high end non-USA made cars that day. A friend bought a new Honda last summer and the first day the clutch failed, then the dealer told him the handle falls off, and the gas tank cracks. Good luck with your Jap c- r- a- p. The next guy that don't let you in on a merge might be me, I offer that treatment to all Jap c- r- a- p-, LOL. |
