I am getting a tapping or clicking sound when accelerating hard or tasking the engine really hard like pulling a boat. It sounds kind of like a playing card on a bicycle clicking but more of a metal sound. It sounds like it is coming from under the truck as opposed to the engine compatment.

Thanks
Ash

Might be a gasket or your exhaust manifold. Have them checked. I was having the same problem with my 01 Supercrew. I only get the clicking sound while accelerating not when idle. SO brought it to Midas and the guy told me about the manifold. Very costly job. He told me $1200 to do the job. Ended up bringing it to another mechanic and was clsoe to $250.

I've got the same sound in my 2000 Ford F150. But it happens stopping too and it's not "in time" to the engine.
