Motor Trend names Toyota Tundra its 2008 truck of the year

Did everyone else not submit an entry? The Tundra has had more recalls any other new vehicle I can remember and it is still the Truck of the Year? Toyota must have bought a lot of ads in Motor Trend lately.

They said the recall problems werent on the ballot, so it wasnt considered.Alot of these awards the cars get an advantage if it runs on Rice.

The only reason people are buying this Asian crap is because it is the trendy thing to do, and nothing more. It has become very popular to hate on anything American, and the snobby and ignorant buy right into it.
The quality is about the same of its US counterpart, and the features are basically identical.
Gas mileage and other types of features, there is virtually no differences between the rice burning crap and the American automobiles.

Unfortunately, people buy this crap because it is the popular thing to do. The same people will pay more for things like Sony brand just because they equate higher price tag with better quality.
These people are likely guilty of buying the name brand medicines at two to three times the cost of the generic counterpart, just because they think its better.

My point is that some people are about as deep as a puddle, and the end result is this low rate motor trend rag, awarding Toyota high marks.

If I recall correctly, the new Mustang recieved 5 stars in Motortrend, while the Bentley recieved 4 1/2, kind of sad an affordable sports car thats a legend is better than a Bently.

the chevy dealership I go to has 6 tundras that were traded in on chevys. talking to the service manager, he told me that the tundra owners didn't like them at all, and now they're stuck with them.
all newer models with low mileage. go figure.

First off: On Sat Dec 22 TruthBeTold says that the only reason people buy Japanese cars is because it's trendy and stylish mentioning that they are junk! But then goes on to say that the quality is about the same as American cars. Is this clown saying that American cars are junk too.

All I want to say here is that the Japanese cars are indeed made with quality parts and hold up well under normal use.

The public wants to know what to buy as far as quality and the product lasting years down the road. I tell you... Don't ask the salesman, not the sales manager, nor even the service manager. Ask the mechanic! The guy that not only fixes the things that wear out normally but the badly engineered and designed problems that he has to repair and adjust on a day to day basis.

I would love to see you prove that Garage Guy. Ford F-150 has the strongest frame, bigger bolts, Tundra has the most bed shake, do we need to go over this? All Tundras do is brag about 0-60 and brakes. Or towing..you are comparing a top of the line Toyota to the lowest line in the F-series, Ram series, and Chevy series. Tundras are a joke.

Nice post. The only problem is the guy that buy Tundras are really not guys. They are sissy boys that have no use for a truck. I guess they think a Tundra will make them look cool. NOT.. Ford is the king of trucks and always will be..Sorry Toyota you will be out of this market in two years, just like the TITAN..

Well mister "first off", I never said anything about junk, I very specifically said "crap".
Whats most embarrassing (for you) is that the name you chose is garage guy, implying that you are somehow knowledgeable, any "real" garage guy I know wouldn't be caught dead in a rice buner!

But then again, you might work for Mazda as their oil change mechanic or some other such nonsense.
