2004 Ford explorer, battery drain completely after sitting for a few days. New battery 2x; new alternator! Been to two different mechanics still have problem. Had a jvc installed; had another one installed thinking maybe it was the problem; all stereo rewired by professional. Still have problem! HELP

I have the same problem. I'm still trying to figure out myself. No large drain on the batter when it is off, and alternator checks out just fine.

Happy Day!! I found the problem with my Explorer battery drain! It went through several expensive visits to our usual mechanic AND a 9 day stay at a Ford dealership they COULD not find the problem. So little old me, no experience with mechanics at ALL and a "women" lol! I did a process of elimination. This problem started to happen after a new stereo was put in 2 years ago which included satellite radio and I kept telling mechanics that but was continuously ignored. I had stereo removed; left truck for 6 days; did not start! Went back to stereo shop, had satellite jvc sirius radio box removed and hooked up stereo only. BINGO, it was the sirius satellite box that was the problem!!! Just left my truck parked for 10 days straight while away and again it started JUST fine! So that was my problem the jvc sirius box. I contacted Sirius and they said they had no problem with these boxes BUT according to stereo installers these boxes are no longer available! So pretty clear they were having problems with them. Good luck with your particular problem.
