Send it to the Corn Field................
#2 Jun 10, 2013
I have a 2003 Ford Expedition with a 4.6 v8. It has 180,000 miles on it. For about a year now, it has been doing a light rattle on start up, not all the time but when it does do it, it does it for about 3 seconds and then stops. Recently however, it has started to do a light knocking noise hen it warms up. Again, it doesn't do this all the time, but when it does do it, it does it only when idling and stops when you give it gas. When you come off the gas, it doesn't do it again until about 5 more minutes of just PURE idling, and it will start again. It's not a very hard or vigorous knock, but it does concern me. I need to know if it's anything I need to worry about and if so, what things can I do to stop it.
