My 2010 Ford Expedition has paint bubbling on the tailgate around the handle. Dealer took pictures and Ford supposedly says no to repairing. Warranty only good for 3 years and metal has to have a hole or perforation for repairs. This doesn't happen with aluminum ..... so I have to repair it myself. Ford knows it's a problem. I've seen multiple posting on this issue and Ford isn't standing behind their product.

Had the same issue with my 2002 Ford Explorer and got the same response. Any suggestions on how to hold them accountable? Joann

I have the same problem on my 2010 Expy EL. I'm going to hold them accountable by never buying Ford junk again. I've been all GM to this point, and I will go back soon. Paint bubbling on these truck for over 10 years is just wrong. Ford quality is a failure.
hope this helps

Speak with your dealership"s Service manager ask him to file a case on your behalf because they know this is happpen from not rust but oxidation which thay know has been going on with there vehicles since 2000. It's not a wear and tear it's a manufacturer's DEFECT. Also you can ask customer service at Ford corp customer service center for your dealership's customer service manager (they are over top of the dealership itself) Goodluck

This was the original route and my dealership got no where... but then I find they don't try very much on my behalf anyway. They don't consider me a client because I didn't buy the truck from them... obviously they don't think that they are responsible for Ford Clients.

I went to Customer Relations with Ford Canada and made my case. They reviewed it and came back - payed for 40% of the cost and got the dealership to pay for 15%. I'm happier with this result.... at least they are taking some responsibility.
