As far as the headlights, try to replace the fuse in the engine compartment, but most likey you'll have to replace the headlight bulbs. As far as the windshield wiper, undo the plastic cover on the windshield arm, pop it up with a flat screwdriver, tighten up the nut with an adjustable wrench, this should fix your driver side windshield wiper problem. Good luck. Rosalie San Diego wrote: I have a 1998 expedition. My headlights dont work. prior to them not working I smelled something similar to an electrical wire burn. could there be a short or my fuses?? Also i'm not sure if this is related but the drivers side windshield wiper doesnt work. the passenger side works fine. I cant pay for automotive repair right now due to the time of the year so does anyone have suggestions -- thank you!

I have a 1998 Expedition. When I turn the knob to engage AWD or 4X4 the lights on the dash do not turn on, and you can tell it is not in 4X4. The knob is turning the switch, and I checked the 30 amp fuse for the on the fly tranfere case, and it is good. What is next?

sherrd wrote: I drive a 97 expedition 5.4L.Recently on the way home, out of the blue i could see the air coming out of the vents with the air conditioning on and further noticed with the air vent turned off, after engine reaches normal temp, steam or something comes out of the defrost vents. ac works but smells like the radiator. is this a bad thermostat, or what? It sounds like you have a leak in your heater core. The same thing happened on my '99 Expedition (5.4L). Even with the heat off and the A/C on, the radiator fluid will leak into the ventilation system and come out as a "cloud" of coolant. On my '99 I had to take out your instrument panel to get at the heater core.

mech567 wrote: <quoted text> you have a broken blend door..the dah must come out for this repair I had a broken blend door in my 2000 ranger. I found a kit on e-bay called 'heatertreater'. It fixes explorer and ranger blend door problem. Best of all it was easy, saved cash, and I didn't have to disassemble the dash (or put it back together)!

What happened wrote: same thing happened to my 2000 Expedition, radio works great but no lights of any kind,- was able to get it working at one time by pushing hard on radio face - lights came back on only for a day. I wonder what to do now? <quoted text> I have the same problem. I used to bang on it and it would work, but now that doesn't work any more.
