Terrific Vehicle, 6 month old battery. Ran fine 1 hour and the next nothing. I can't lock the doors. No computer light, for that matter no interior lights, period. Put the key in the ignition, turn it, put the automatic transmission lever at neutral and wait...it will start if you wait long enough. Power seems to surge and then decrease at times to a full stall.

It felt like at one point, after driving it for about ten minutes, that while idiling in a parking lot the power level decreased temporarily like it wanted to stall.

Anyone have this problem before, I take it to dealer and they think they have a dumb blonde, that they can take advantage of? Any ideas would be appreciated. I have never had any problems with this truck and it has a little more than 65k miles.

my 1998 Eddie Bauer does the same thing. In cold weather (-10C or lower) the electrical system slowly shuts down. Heater motor shuts off, awd shuts off, dash lights etc etc and finally the engine. Go to restart and there is nothing. Pull out the keys and wait 5 minutes and it starts fine then the cycle begins again. As soon as the weather warms up it runs fine. Did you find a fix for your problem?

My 2001 shudders as well sometimes on the freeway. This morning I get my boys ready and head to the truck. It wont start. Out of no where. I have never had a problem with my ford ever. What could cause this? It sounds healthy but wont engage??? Anyone know what I could do?

My Rear Wiper has stoped working and people are telling me that it's not the motor, because the Front works Great! What fuse number is it that is the one to change. There are so many. I had the owner's manual stolen years ago and Ford Sucks about giving you info. Any answers out there??

My son has a 1999 Ford Ranger Std. cab w/a 3.0 flex fuel V6 motor. It has 120k miles on it and I am considering buying it from him. He discovered that cylinder #5 has low compression and make the engine run rough. His mechanic thinks it could be a head gasket or a valve problem.

So, about a month ago he replaced his ride with a new Jeep and parked the Ranger on the front lawn For Sale, with the mechanics information posted on the window.

After 4 weeks of sitting the battery died, so he tried to jump it, and it turned over but wouldn’t start.

We removed the air intake and shot Either into the tube. It started right up. After getting a full charge on the battery, we tried to start it again and it would turn over nicely but wouldn’t start. Once again we shot Either in the intake and started right up. Then shut it off and would not start again.

After some research on web sites I replaced the gas filter. NOTHING!!! WON”T START WITHOUT EITHER!!!!!! I am perplexed.

Do you, or someone you know have a solution for this. I really need help.

Thanks,

Terry

The heater adjustment knob that turns from hot to cold has a small crack so that it doesn't turn the cam. Switch with back one or replace.

I have a 1998 expedition. My headlights dont work. prior to them not working I smelled something similar to an electrical wire burn. could there be a short or my fuses?? Also i'm not sure if this is related but the drivers side windshield wiper doesnt work. the passenger side works fine. I cant pay for automotive repair right now due to the time of the year so does anyone have suggestions -- thank you!

Passenger compartment fuse panel located by the brake pedal #11-30 amp--Washer pump relay, Wiper run/park relay, Wiper hi/lo relay, windshield wiper motor, rear wiper pump relay.

Power distribution box located in the engine compartment #12-10 amp--Rear Wiper Up Motor Relay,Rear Wiper Down Motor Relay. From the owners manual.

My 1999 Ford Expedition has head gasket failure for the second time in two years, dealer repaired it the first time. Does anyone know if Ford has issued a recall on this or is offering reduced repairs for this problem?
