I HAVE AN EDDIE B. ROLL ALONG PKG 2000 EXPEDITION THAT JUST STARTED LEAKING WHEN IT RAINS. I HAVE HAD THE ROOF LINER PULLED DOWN NEAR THE FRONT OF THE ROOF WHERE THE LEAK APPEARS TO BE BUT CANNOT FIND THE PROBLEM. I DO HAVE A SUN ROOF BUT IT DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE THE PROBLEM SINCE IT IS NOT WET IN THIS AREA. I HAVE NOTICED THE SOUND OF WIND COMING THROUGH THE DOOR SEALS WHEN IT IS VERY WINDY AND I AM DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. AM WONDERING IF THIS COULD BE THE PROBLEM? I AM WONDERING IF ANYONE ELSE HAS EXPERIENCED THIS SAME PROBLEM?

well, it is six years old it could be that the wheather striping is bad. the eddie baner pkg also has a sunroof or moon roof, watever the difference is,your leak could be around that

Replace the windshield ASAP! The windsheild "glue" that they used is an inferior product. Replacing the windshield will fix the problem and save costly electrical problem

I was just wondering how far the moonroof window should open? My 1998 Eddie Bauer Expedition's moonroof opens about 2 inches. Is this as far as it opens? If not, does anyone have any ideas?
Also: Why does the check engine stay on?

Thanks!

Btw: My expedition's heater doesn't feel very warm up front either and I feel no warm air blowing towards the floor.

I've a 2004 Eddie Bauer that just started leaking. I can't figure out where or how water is getting in, but water is everywhere. When I hit the breaks it pours out of my sun visor. When I step on teh gas, out of the DVD player. When sitting still, it pools in the low parts of the roof liner. It can only the sun roof as that is the only "hole" in the roof. Id there a replacement seal or something, and what is this about a stopped up drain? There is a drain up there??

Have a 2000 expo XLT. Has been a great car but when it rains it leaks out the back ac control and into the chain holder on the glove box. I put some liquid metal but it still leaks. I am going to try some 3m silicone and see if that does the trick. Anybody know of any recalls it seems like alot of people are having this problem.

i have an 03 Expy E.B., it started raining really hard and I had about a 1/8" stream of water flowing out of the driver side middle row over head light. Turns out there are a total of 4 drain's for the sun roof, 2 in the front corners of the well that the sunroof sits in when in the closed position and 2 in the back by the center of the back doors. if you pull down the head liner, you can see it. mine expy is green, and so was the drain hose.. its kind of hard to see, but if you look hard you can see it. these drains (all 4) seem to have problems getting clogged up. my passenger side front one was clogged... no water would drain down that hole. To unclog it, simply blow air (from a compressor) down the hole until its cleared of debris. you will know because these drains lead to underneath the vehicle by the running boards. The front ones drain by the front of the running boards and the back drains by the back. make sure to park your vehicle to where gravity pulls the water to the drain you want to test. yes its a pain, but better than paying ford or a dealer $500 to tell you it was clogged up. Hope this helps you!!

I have a 2002 Expedition that also leaks around the sun visor on both sides when it rains. Not sure what the cause is?

My 2004 Expedition does the same thing. Any solutiuon? It does not appear to be the sunroof. Looks to be the bolt holes in the driver side visor. Maybe the rubber sealant on roof near windshield.

My 2003 Expedition roof also leaked, water dripped down the driverside window handbar and the leftside of the sun visor. I had it repaired in 2007.
I was told it was the seal in the luggage rack. Here I am in 2010 and started leaking again, Ugh!

My 2000 Expo leaks as well. Water was running in through the right side handle, right rear A.C. duct, right rear courtesy light, and the front courtesy light fixture. The cause, for me, is the sunroof itself. The metal band that is molded on around the glass has rusted and bubbled causing the seal to bulge and therefore not seal properly. Found an entire assembly for $250 at salvage yard whereas the glass portion will run $350 online or $900 at dealer.

I have a 2007 Expedition Max and I've had no problem with water leaking into the SUV. Two days ago it rained for about three days straight! When I got in my vehicle to go to work I havd water leaking from the overhead video player in the back seat. When I drove the SUV to the dealership the water was dripping all over the back seat. When the dealership say the water leaking that said to bring it in on Monday morning for repairs. I talked to the dealer yesterday! they said they can't repulciate the problem..I told them that even there mechanics say it leaking, they responsed to say that can find where it's coming from...it's been a week and I still don't have my SUV back. They are reluctabt to take out the liningg. don't know why! this might help them find the problem.. I hope the Vidoe player isn't damaged due to the water.

I have a 2004 Eddie Bauer as well with a leak. From where I see it coming from it has to be around the moonroof. I have a water stain around the trim on the inside. I have seen water coming from the visor area, dvd area, and mostly passenger side. If this seems to be a problem with this year of vehicle it should be listed as a recall. This has happened three times for me. Has anyone found the solution? It is pretty pricey to get them to look at it.

The leak is due to the drains on the luggage rack being clogged. Once this is cleaned out the leak will stop. The bad thing is that it will clog up again. I have a 2002 Eddie Bauer and the headliner has been out at least 7 times and it started the month I bought the car - new.

I have a 2000 Ford Expedition The past 3 days we have had hard rains. I went out to my car and found that the floor on drivers sides of the SUV was flooded. My radio was on the car was not. I started the car to move it so that I could get it near an outlet to use the wet vac to remove the water and the wipers would not work. I removed the water from the floors and when I went to move my Expedition It would not start it seem that it is leaking from the windsheild. I noticed that there are alot of complaints on water leakage on Expeditions. Now I am worried that the water may have shorted out the electrical system. Now as I look at these complaints I see a pattern of this happening on all years. Why did the wounderful FORD CORPORATION NOT WARN US OF THIS PROBLEM I THINK AVOID HAVING TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR A DEFECT IN THEIR MANUFACTURING OF THIS VEHICLE. NOW I AM HAVING TO CALL OUT A MECHANIC and hope the the damage from this defect has not cause a costly problem. I DROVE THIS VEHICLE OFF THE LOT BRAND NEW HAD IT IN FOR EVERY MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE FOR 100,000 MILES AND THIS COMPANY COULD NOT ONCE WARN ME TO KEEP TRACK OF ANY LEAKAGE FROM THE WINDSHIELD, THIS IS POSSIBLY WHY THEY DID NOT NEED GOVERNMENT MONEY BECAUSE THEY NEVER TOLD THEIR CUSTOMERS OF THE PROBLEMS THAT MIGHT EXIST WITH THIS SUV. RIGHT NOW I'M NOT TO PROUD OF THE FORD CORPORATION.. IF ANYONE ELSE HAS HAD THE SAME ELECTRICAL PROBLEM, I'D LIKE TO KNOW ABOUT IT SO THAT I HAVE AN IDEA WHAT KIND OF REPAIRS THAT I MAY BE FACING..
