Hello, everyone, I'm glad to have bought an 08 Escape. It meets my need for room, and I like its seating and rugged yet modern styling. It's also very well-built with no problems at all. But, if I were to pick out one thing I dislike the most, it would have to be its new electric steering system. The 08 Escape's steering is replaced by an electric unit that sheds off weight, reduces noise, and improves fuel milage. All seemed great to me until I drove it. I found the steering numb with very little feedback. You don't really feel connected to the car's wheels, more like piloting a boat. It's good for people wanting luxury, but it sure takes a step back from previous Escapes in terms of driving feel. What do you all think about this? Is Ford going to ignore it because most people buying these SUVs don't really care about this aspect?
