How do you change the fog lamp bulbs on a '04 Escape?

I need to do the exact same on my 02, says DOT bulb 898 in the manual, but see the dealer for replacement.
Has anyone replaced one on their own, I mostly see the whole assebmly when looking for the part.
TIA for any wisdom !

Just found this:
use sylvania bulb 899 and try these instructions:
Just remove enough of the 10mm bolts holding the front of the fender liner to get your hand in between the liner and the bumper cover. Grasp the foglight socket, turn it counterclockwise, and pull it out of the lamp housing. There is enough slack in the wires to pull the bulb and socket down to where you can see it. Replace the bulb and reverse the procedure. Be careful not to touch the bulb with your bare fingers. If you do, it will shorten the life of it dramatically.

Hello I have a 03 escape, and it going to cost a lot to just take out the fog light bulbs just to replace them
Can anyone please tell the class of bulbs I need to replace and or how to get them out.

Knaf, excellent info. I just bought a used 2003 Ford Escape, wanted to replace both the headlights and foglights with Xenon Halogen lamps (www.lightbulbs4cars.com --- excellent prices and quality products from my experience) and I followed your instructions, took me about 8 minutes, was a lot easier than spending $100+ at the dealer for them to do it. Thanks!

i have an 06 escape, and got a whole new fog light assembly, and was wondering what is the easiest way of replasing it all, is there a way to come in from inside the wheel well, or do i have to take off the front bumper thing
