2002 Ford Escape

I've had my Escape since 9/01, and have an occasional problems with the engine briefly "cutting out" during driving on the interstate. Also, during the cold weather the idle speed will be over 3,000 rpms if Iwait a few days the idle speed will stablize as if nothing happened. The latest is the low idle at start up and the engine runs as if its missing. This is very furstrating as I take my car to the dealer regularly and they can't come up with a solution because by then the check engine light is off and event log shows no problems. I plan on getting to the dealer soon asap so they can look at the check engine history.

the linkage in your front sway bar is your problem.

It is proubably your whell bearing. Mine dod the same thing and they could not figure it for the longest and it got worst and worst and finally they found out it was whell barring it cost me over $300 to replace

If you do buy one, MAKE SURE YOU BUY AN EXTENDED WARRENTY. GOOD LUCK. I'D SUGGEST BUYING A FOREIGN VEHICLE LIKE A HONDA OR TOYOTA.

I have a 2001 Ford Escape XLT V6. It recently has been breaking down (4 times now). It seems to happen if I am running a lot of errands & am turing on/off the engine a lot. It starts, sounds really crappy, the RPM gauge drops to below zero, and it idles for a little bit then just dies. By the time my fiance came to help me an hour had passed, he got in the suv and it started right away! It has done this 3 times - the 4th time was a little different - It seemed like it would idle forever, and I could put it into gear, but as soon as I hit the gas it died. My fiance replaced the fuel pump & all the filters but obviously that didnt help. Has any one had this same problem? Any suggestions?
