Intown Motors strikes again

Nearly every time I talk to one of the teeming masses who have had encounters with the infamous towing company called Intown Motors, the person, at some point in the conversation, says they're going to sue ... Read more

Any vehicle displaying a valid tag, cannot be considered
abdandoned.

If I would have caught this schmuck breaking Into my truck
there would have been serious consequences. It would have been extremely difficult for him to argue his case with a
Glock stuck In his mouth.

I don't know who the driver was (maybe the buy who lives by the cemetary) but the owner of Inntown Motors is a real jerk. I can just picture this whole scenario and the story tells it exactly how they work. He's making thousands of dollars everyday towing cars because he sucks as the salesman he is SUPPOSED to be. I'm not mad at a man's business doing well it's just the way he goes about it....DIRTY. He's done state prison time (maybe it was federal???) so he's already proven that he is no good.

I never heard of this Intown Motors situation, but I for one would gladly donate $10 or $20 to help this guy win his case. People like this need to be stopped and we need to help each other out when we can. If he wants to pursue this case, I know that my office can come up with at least $50 if he's interested. Just let us know in your column if we can help.

Why are these owners of parking lots hiring Intown Motors? It is amazing you park in the same parking lot and they want to tow you for you patronizing businesses. If I park at Old Navy and decide to walk to Pet Smart I guess I risk getting towed. Maybe I need to go shop somewhere else. These businesses better get things changed or they will be losing out also. I would also donate to pursue the case. Don't forget how they ripped off many Central students!

I think people who have been shafted by this towing company should organize a protest in front of the business.

Thing is - he could have recouped ALL of his money - InTwone Motors would have been responsible for his atorney fees had he won - and he would have won. Plus, all it was that InTowne Motoes sent was a letter that it pPLANNED to appeal. If they didn't file for the appeal, then he is still due his money.

This company needs to be investigated. How about the State Attorney General's Office,, or Better Business Bureau. Also the Chamber of Commerce possibly since Intown is a business in the city.
And what is it with the Gym . The gym should have that man's liscense plate or his liscense on file to see he is a member. Or the gym could have made an announcement asking who's car is parked on their lot. If the gym had this car towed and I were a member their administrators should be notified of these goings on.
There must be some kindof reprecussions for this corrupt company.

The car owner should file a criminal complaint against the tow truck driver as well as Intown motors for grand theft auto.

I'd also chip in some cash. This is not the first time I've heard of this company stealing cars and holding them for ransom.

If this exact same thing happens to me...first thing I'd do, as it's happening...is CALL THE COPS!! Let them come and sort it out. That tow truck driver would have some explaining to do. And, if the driver would take off before the cops arrive, I'd get the license plate off the tow truck, then when the cops arrive report the vehicle as stolen and give the license number of the getaway truck to the police. This would put an end to this crap!! For God's sake...don't give them any shakedown money!!!

The tow driver is supposed to call the cops with your information before he tows the car - by law!!

I understand that if you call the cops, all they do is tell you it was towed by Intown and that's the end of their participation. In other words, they assume it was towed legally. Anyone know different?

My wife's co-worker had a similar experience. His car was nearly towed from a private lot in the city where he had permission to park. When he threatened to call the police, the tow-truck driver was nice enough to let him have his car back.

Don't mix On the Circuit into the Intown Motors mess. Tobin Johnston owns Intown Motors. He was a former partner in On the Circuit. The current owner of On the Circuit while a "car salesman" is not a scumbag like Toby. Toby Johnston did time for money laundering, I beleive it was federal due to the location of the crime crossing state lines. He financed cocaine deals and stolen cars from Florida. The guy gets his rocks off seeing other people suffer.

During the snow storm from hell - two snowstorms of 20+ inches in 5 days, my girlfriend was coming home from work and couldn't make it up the hill on N Pine St in York. Anyone who lives in York know it's a two lane road which only fits one vehicle and they never plow it. She got stuck and parked across the street from our house where there is a chinese place and little shop. The weather was horrible, no parking anywhere, her car was sliding all over the place. We woke up yesterday to go dig it out and move it, and it wasn't there. We saw the signs for intown motors after the fact and decided to call them to see if they had her car. She called, and the guy laughed at her and told her she owes $180 to get her car out. You call the police and they say it's a civil matter. Yesterday was the "blizzard" day and we couldn't get her car, so it's another $35 per day. We went at 8AM this morning to get it out, and they aren't open until 9, and she works at 9. Also, the lot seems buried in 3-4 feet of snow and we can't even tell where her car is behind the fence...we have no idea how we are getting her car out of there. My email address is NateFishPA@aol.com. I'm interested in news bureaus contacting me about running a story on their extortion and how it's affecting people's lives. Please contact us, as we don't even have the money to get her car out. This is ridiculous and unfair business practices. My car died a few months ago and I was towed 10 miles for $75. These criminals in the dead of night in a blizzard stole her car and held it hostage for $215. Beyond unfair.
