Here in Auburn Hills, Tom LaSorda's talking about what's going to bring the Chrysler Group back in black in the long-term. Part of that plan includes creating a "stronger product pipeline" by developing among ...

A hybrid Durango? Are you guys nuts? Have you done a cost benefit analysis? Look at the difference in gas mileage to a comparable vehicle, the chevrolet silverado, for 3 mpg, its just not worth it. Its just a feeble attempt to increase sales before they hit the iceberg, and the management at chrysler is a member of the band.

i sure hope theyre going to improve the quality of the durango as well. I have heard it was horrendous. I do like the looks of them though as long as the hybrid makes a significant fuel difference unlike most.

It's not always about the cost benefit analysis Tom Loy. It's about getting away from the use of fossil fuels! Or such a large dependancy on them. Don't be such a downer!! Jack***!

If you are serious about getting away from fossil fuels, then pressure GM to build the Chevy Volt. Minimizing gas usage is NOT one of the big three's priority.

Horrendous??? I have a 1999 SLT 4x2 I purchased new. It has the 5.9 liter V8. It just rolled 170,000 miles. I have never had anything go wrong with it. NEVER! Just regular maintenance. I can't say that about the 89 Olds Cutlass International or 86 GMC Jimmy I bought new. They had recall after recall. I would buy a hybrid Durango before even looking at a another GMC product. Sorry to be partial.

I have only owned Ford and Chevy's, never had a problem with them either. Nice to know some of chrysler's models last.

I'm a loyal Dodge owner. Wouldn't have it any other way. Dodge does have it's problems, but name a company that doesn't. I owned a Pontiac once, spent more time at the service shop than on the road. The Durango is great; I just wish they would make it bigger.

So you have never had any problems with ford or chevy funny I worked at a chevy dealership in service and I worked on chevys all day every manufacturer has problems chrysler lasts just as long as ford or chevy and in some cases longer

Now that would be a good idea, depending upon the size of the diesel.

A 5.9 litre diesel is too large. The 3.0 litre diesel in the jeep grand cherokee would be large enough. The purpose of a hybrid is to increase mpg, and a large diesel negates that. Chrysler is hoping to sell durango's by merely attaching the word "hybrid" to it.

Chrysler has an interesting future, remember they are now the only private automobile manufacturer in the world. This actually gives them a few advantages over the others. They will probably become known for niche vehicles, which will allow for decreased production and increased profit. I say go for it Dodge, Chrysler, and Jeep!

I owned a 2001 Durango, which was the best vehicle I ever owned, and went to a 2004 Avalanche, the worst product of any category I have ever owned.

I am looking forward to turning in this 12 mpg defect riddled POS for a hybrid Durango!
