The instructions in the owners manual do not work. Further, those instructions were removed from the 2008 and 2009 manuals.

Currently, the only way to reset ASSYST (the oil change reminder) is to use a dealership scan tool.

I'm not aware of any aftermarket tools, at this writing, that will access the Cabin Compartment Node electronic control module and reset the reminder value.

I'm sure someone will bring something to market - and there may be something already; I just don't know about it - but as far as I know, you need to use StarSCAN, StarMOBILE, WiTECH or Mercedes-Benz Star Diagnosis System. These tools are not priced for consumers. They're priced for dealership and independent shops that have a four (4) figure budget for such tools.

I have a 2009 Sprinter, and the same problem. What would happen if you get the oil changed evert 10K miles and just ignore the ASSYST warnings.

Thanks, Dave

My 2007 doesn't reset after disconnecting the battery for a couple of days. The count down to the next service remains.

I got the oil changed after work on Tuesday. Drove home and disconnected the battery about 5 pm. Reconnected the battery at about 7 am. I had to reset the date, clock and the TPMS [got warning]. All the radio stations I had set were still there. The ASSYST warning did not reset. What will happen if I just ignore the warnings?

Thanks, Dave

Dealer has to reset computer. Last time Autoland NJ did it for free.I drove in and they did it right away. This time they wanted me to make an appointment. Leave it all day,,,,, Im figuring they dont like me changing the oil my self. They want to sellme something.(I need this truck to work every day)I bought a Star Scan tool from E-Bay. Used $2500.00 It had latest software update.
Im planning to keeping my truck for more than 300K miles so I figured the tool will pay for its self over the years. I can now reset my own oil ch and all service notices. I can check falt codes and clear check eng light. I even shut off the day time head lights.(I was changing light bulbs and head lights every month) I have a check eng light on and it said #5 cyl glow coil dead or shorted. Its still running fine. When I have time I,ll change out the glow Plug when I figure out wich one is # 5. The Sprinter Forum has moreInfo than here.
Oh Ya Nappa has the oil filter for 10.00
