Got a 3500 4x4 with 50 k miles auto, 5.9 engine, noticed when pulling out of drive way it feels like its in 4 wheel drive for about 100 ft. Intermittent, checking u joints tomorrow. Truck still might be under warranty?

I have a 2007 3500 diesel that was great for the first 40000 miles. Now has 60000 on it. At 41000, a fuel injector went, and I was also complaining about some vibration between 40-50 mph. Went back in the shop today, has 60000 on it, and they say I need a whole new drive shaft b/c i was driving on a bad ujoint for so long! I haul million dollar horses in this truck and have asked repeatedly to have the vibration checked. Always told "no problems,
you're fine and good to go!" No wonder
Chrysler's having some problems. I don't trust my
$45000 truck any more and it's less than 3
years old!
I also have a 07 3500 4x4. I have had a swell in my front end w/ it going back and fourth to Dodge, being told the same.( no problem good to go ) This week coming out of my pasture, I
heard a noise from the rear . I took it in Yesterday and said it's hot and you can for sure hear it. Drove with the Master a 1/2 mile and she said it's u joints. I just hit 93320 miles. I was told the Factory Warranty only covers engine? I thought that was power train as well? To 100 k miles. This truck has had 6 injectors and then some. I'm with you I am now worried hauling/ driving a 40k truck. I'll hear more today.

I have a 07 3500 Dually it is making a squealing noise a slight turns Appt. was set for that. I then got a noise in the rear after coming out of our Cotton Field . I've had some vibrations however told it was normal with a 4x4.( last 3 trips to shop) I took my truck back yesterday and The Master drove it 1/2 mile and said u joint. So it's sits at the shop. I have Warrenty to 100k but was told that only covers my engine? Dodge has to know this is a problem. This truck had 25k of injector work done ( covered ) before I bought it. I can only get 15.1 mpg so looking into that as well . Any suggestions ?

News from Shop on my 07 3500 4x4 : U joint !! Front squeal not heard by them, however I hear after driving about 200 miles straight. Has anyone had this? I also am told warranty does not cover. I've read so many post about this!! Does Dodge even look at this as a problem? I was told " your truck has 93k w/ original u joints. Like I should not be surprised. Trucks been in four wheel drive one time. We drive these $ 40k trucks and the parts cant handle our expectations Dodge cost more than the rest ! Guess they know they have us on a hook for the Cummins . I personally like my Dad's 5.9 better than my 6.7.
What have others done to improve mpg?

I have a 2010 Dodge 3500 4x4 with 32000 kms on it and both front u-joints are siezed due to the fact there is no grease nipple and they dried out. The needle bearings that were still there were rusted and dry. This truck is 14 months old and has never been off road.I have heard that even the warranty replacements don't have a grease nipple ,so my question is , can you drill and tap the u joints and put one in ??

I bought my 2005 Dodge Ram 3500 4x4 5.9 diesel at 117,000 miles in August 2011 and started hauling rv's around the country. I have dealers service records from when vehicle was new and never any u-joints replaced. Just replaced right upper and lower ball joints, needs right wheel bearing replaced now. At 165000 plus I just got a vibration and checked u-joints and found rear one needs replacing and while I have it apart I plan on replacing both joints to hopefully prevent having it done on while on a haul.

Does any one know what kind of tool it takes to remove the front driveshaft torx head bolts on a 2004 3500 4x4
You need a long shaft torx socket.

2012 Ram 3500 4x4 with 105,000 miles. I'm being told my front drive shaft u joint needs replaced and therefore they have to replace the drive shaft because the u joint alone is not placeable. Does this sounds right?

I have a 2011 3500. I had a transmission built for it , and now have a vibration coming fromantic what sounds like the drive shaft. The transmission being built shouldn't have changed anything, but idk. The vibration happens when slowin to a stop, and is gone when truck downshifts, and is way worse when towing. Any ideas will be appreciated!

I bought a 2014 Dodge Ram 3500 and I had a vibration issue with it from 100 km per hour
right up to 110 km per hour and it felt like the dry shaft was going to drop out of it.
I traded it in on a new 2015 Dodge Ram figuring I could just get rid of my problems and found out
the new truck does the exact same thing at 100 km to110 kms and I took it to a Dodge Dealer ship and they told me there was nothing they could do.
They told me it's a issue with Dodge Ram 3500 trucks and until Dodge Chrysler comes up with a fix for the problem you will have to live with.
I'm pissed off and there's nothing you can do.
I say don't buy Dodge Ram Trucks.
