How could Chrysler be so dumb as to put the thermostat at the bottom????? Could there be a standard that we all could live by? If this is a new technique, could we share this with the public? Or at least tell the new consumer that changes have been madde? This is rediculous!!!!!

The thermostat is located at the bottom of the motor , on passengers side, there are two hoses that run from the radiator , one on top ( wich does not lead to the thermo. ) and , one on bottom , about 3inches in diameter , two 1/2 inch bolts holds the housing aorund the thermostat , you do not need to remove the hose , as its a pain anyway to do so , once housing is removed , be careful of access water from the motor , it still might be hot , unless working on a cold motor , thermostat will be visiable at this point , take out, ( might need a little force ), replace , then replace housing , make sure new thermostat covers the opening entirely , bolt on , with proper tourqe , and your done, refile , antifreeze , run idle for 10 to 15 minutes.....good luck...

have same problem. 2002 1500 red lines overheating. No hot air from heater. Should the air at least be piping hot if it overheats?
