I am having trouble finding 18 inch after market wheels for my 2006 Magnum R/T AWD. The offset seems to be the problem. Can anyone help?

As I have been searching the same thing for 20" rims for my Magnum AWD, I have found out that the offset needs to be at least 33mm. I am seeing is that a 40mm offset is what they make. The products seem limited for the offset but still some nice wheels avalable for it.

FYI: Installing those grotesque aftermarket 20+ inch "pimped" style rims/tires are detrimental to factory antilock brake systems, traction control systems and dynamic stability control systems. The software for these systems are not designed for larger wheels/tires. If you care about safety then stick with the factory issued wheels.

If the diameter of the rim and tire together is close to the same, will the computer still have problems?(ie. use a very low profile tire with 20" rims)

I have a 2005 Magnum R/T The rims are starting to flake and bubble underneath the finish. I have taken it to the dealer and am waiting to hear if it is going to be covered under warranty. Has anyone else had the same problems. The car had 58,000 kilometers on it when I noticed it.

I have a 2005 Magnum R/T . It is making a noise in the rear end. It sounds you are running over the rumbled edge a the side of the highway. When I take it to the dealer they cannot hear it. Has anyone else had the same sort of noise?

Mike: I have had the same problem with my 18" rims on my 05 RT. The dealer replaced 3 of 4 rims (the 4th was not rusting) before Christmas/Boxing Day 2006. The 4th Rim recently started rusting ALONG WITH THE # REPLACEMENT RIMS, so the dealer will be replacing all 4 rims. I am going to try a different stock rim,# 82209999

I agree. Personally, I think that the aftermarket rims kill the looks of the car. BUT: You need to use an exact formula if you are going to change wheel/tire size - ESPECIALLY with the AWD! I wouldn't touch it on a bet! Remember, also, you need to replace ALL TIRES AT ONCE with all wheel drive cars.

I have a 2005 R/T AWD Magnum. After alot of searching and education on trying to find an aftermarket rim was difficult at best. However I found a 20" 6 spoke polished alum. rim made by VCT.(with a 40 offset) and they are awesome!! The tire that fit the best is a Hankook. Have had for a year now and has really improved the handling. Hope that helps.

If the diameters are close there is not an issue. Traction control and ABS work on speed diffentials between wheels, not so much actual speed. Your speedometer accuracy is what is affected most by wrong wheel diameter.

I have a 05 magnum sxt awd with only 23,000 mls. I like the Jeep Chroke srt 8 20"/9" wheels. Just wondering if anyone know if those wheels are available with the proper offset for my awd Magnum ? Don't want to screw anything up !!!!!!!

You'll screw it up is you have to use ANY off-set. The Magnum wasn't designed for the Jeep wheels.
