I have the same problem as Terry G. The dashbord, radio, gauge, fog and headlights flicker then return to normal after a short while.
The car performs great and it's over 70,000 miles.
Hi Mike, this may not be the answer, but I noticed on my '02 Intrepid similar issues - radio lights, etc, flickering. Check the variable light dial next to the headlights switch, the dial that dims and brightens the interior lights. Mine was in a position that was not quite on and not quite off. Therefore it was toggling between the two positions, making the lights flicker. To fix the issue, just reposition the dial.
Hope that helps.

The location of all 4 sensors? I am getting a P0138 error. Which sensor is this for?
I have an Innova OBD II reader, one of the better ones. It shows that a PO138 reading means that: "O2 Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2)"

I have a 1999 Dodge Intrepid. When I run the air conditioner the car overheats. I rented a 2005 intrepid, and it did the same thing? Does anyone know why? and if there was a recall concerning this problem.
As I write this the car is at the shop, all the lights kept flashing and today it would not start without a boost.
The mechanic does not seem to know what is wrong?

You need to check BOTH your radiator fans to ensure they are working. If one isn't working, I'd replace BOTH of them because the one that is, will soon be on its way out as well.

my 1997 dodge intrepid 3.5l was running fine on the highway, I exited the highway and slowed for an intersection and the car quit and wouldn't restart. It restarted in abt. 15 min. but quit again after I drove through the intersection. It acts like it't out of gas. It sat overnight and it seems to be running normally but I haven't taken it out on the road. Any idea what could be the problem?

I need some help...i recently bought a 2000 dodge intrepid, 2.7 liter i had no problems at first but in the past weeks i have noticed that when the rpms get to about 3500 i start to hear a clicking noise. Sounds like its low on oil. i just got the oil changed and filled and it is still doing it. I have gotten advice and heard that it is a cylinder knocking. any ideas????? Also i have noticed that my radiator fans are not running therefore i have to run my heater to keep the car from overheating. As much as i hate to admit it i think i need to replace both of the radiator fans. I'm hoping not. please let me know if you know anything about this??? thanks

I've had my Intrepid for two years with no problems. Now when I turn on the blinkers either right or left, they only blink three or four times and then stop.

Wazzup with that?

I have a 2002 and it knocks when it starts cold and after driving it 20 miles - the oil light comes on. As soon as it's back up to 1000 rpm the oil light goes out. How tough of a job is it to replace the oil pump? [email protected]

I would love to have that problem and not mine, you only have to change the flasher control on the fuse box, easy fix, 10 dollars, do it yourself.

I have a 97 Intrepid 3.3L. Everytime that I put the turn signals or the hazard lights, there is a buzzing sound. I was told that it might be the flashers but I, nor the people at AutoZone, know where it goes. I was advised that it belongs somewhere under the dash board, but can't seem to locate it. Please help.

The waterpump runs off of the timing chain, which means you have to remove intake, valve covers, belts and tensioners, to be able to remove the timing cover to get to the timing chain, that actually drives the water pump. this is for the 2.7 litre

I have a problem with my 99 intrepid. when the temperature mark is at the middle the oil light flash only when i stop. I am sure it is not a leakage problem as i always check under the car. recently i added oil to the car and the oil light stopped to flash. my car has a mileage of 160000 km. do u think i have to switch to a heavier oil. currenly i am using 5 w 30.

I have a 2002 intrepid...I have had two solenoids replaced which isn't too bad a problem..being that I'm still under warranty...but should I expect this problem often?...and also I had a brake service and my drivers side brakes still squeal...one of my mechanic friends told me it could be that the pads themselves could be a little loose, he didn't say it was a major problem...but what can I do to fix this...and what is the preferred oil for a 2002 se with the 2.7?

I had this same problem, brought my car to a mechanic and he pulled out a 6 inch long throwing knife from my dash problem solved, I must have had some wires exposed and touching ?

Pull the pin under the dash on the far left side that holds the air duct in place. Remove duct. Locate the brake light switch. Beside the brake light switch is a connector that plugs into the flasher. You're there.

hey i have a 99 intrepid and the air was working ok, but now it only goes full blast, or max, or nothing. the the other fan settings dont work, only full blast, and with all of the direction settings. its annoying having it on full blast because you can talk to people and when its off its really hot in there.
