My truck keeps stalling and every time I take it to the dealership it fires up. I noticed that when I turn off everything (radio, heater, lights, unplug phone charger) and let it sit, it will fire up after a few hours.

However, if i forget to do that, it will stall. I read the message earlier about the ignition coil. Is there anything else that maybe causing this frustration? I'm 95% sure it is an electrical issue.

Dodges are known for being sensitive to voltage level (but I still love them). A old/"tired" battery that is not holding a good charge can cause the vehicle to run rough or stall. You could try replacing the battery and see if that helps.

I have 2002 Dode Durango SLT 4WD V-6, I purchased it in this past October. Last month we started having a problem with the engine cutting off while driving, but it starts right back up after turning the key off and on again! It doesn't matter how fast, slow or if you're sitting at a red light or stop sign, it just does it when it feels like it! The worst was yesterday when my husband drove it 60 miles to and from our home...it cut off 8 times on the way up and 7 on the way back. I haven't noticed it doing it on warm days but at least once or twice on cold days! When the engine does cut off the only changes in the dashboard are the mileage will say "no bus" and the circle around the "D" on the gear indicater disappears! HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM AND IF SO, WHAT WAS THE FINAL OUTCOME? Our Dodge dealership has NO CLUE!!!!!!!!!

Same story here, 2000 Durango stalls at idle on start up. Used to only do it on start up when the motor wasn't warm, but is seems to be getting worse as it does it now when it's warm, too. I'm pretty annoyed and want to know what I'm dealing with before I take it somewhere to get fixed.

replying to a post left here about the "no bus" displayed on the instrument cluster ...the first thing id do ..esp if u do not have access to a drb3 scanner would be to remove the cluster and check the contacts going into the cluster itself. as many know, the newer vehicles are run on a system called "bus" which ties all modules in together . if that does not work out for you, u may have a shorted or open wire from the cluster to the pcm , or possibly another module is taking the cluster down ... just thought id mention that, may or may not help out ...workin in a dealership, when dealing with these types of wiring issues, become a real pain , and time consuming

our 2004 durango is stalled and sitting on a trailer in front of the house!!! It has stalled before but would always start right up again. When it stalled yesterday, it would start but would die within a few seconds. Now it won't even make a sound of any kind. If I had a Chev Yukon, I could call "ONSTAR"!!!

My Dodge Ram 1500 5.9l cut out on me for the first time while driving about 6 months ago. Pulled over and it started right back up. Then started stalling at start up if I did not keep my foot on the gas. Been dying while driving and at start up without much of a pattern - in the last month it started stalling within a minute of filling up when the new gas semed to reach the engine. Sometimes have to drive with two feet - one on gas and one on brake. I've found that STP Gas Treatment temporarily stops the problem. Can't imagine I've been getting bad gas regularly for 6 months. I've taken it to two mechanics - no codes come up. One said wait until there is a clear pattern. The other gave me a b.s. list of parts to replace or clean from the air filter to plugs to wires, and a tune up - he had a $1,200 estimate that was clearly based on ignorance of the source of the problem and greed.

Anyone else had this problem and found a solution.
