Bought my 2005 dodge durango about 2 months ago love it but, when I put it from P to R it went about a foot sounded like it was in N. I then put it in D went and back into R. Got home and tried in R it would only roll backwards and then stalled. My 3000 mile warr is about 600 miles over! Gonna try with them anyways. anyone have any suggestions? Automatic 4.7L v8

I have a 1998 Dodge Durango 4x4, 5.9 engine. Problem is when you are driving between 40-50 miles an hour, the vehicle begins to jerk. If you let off the gas, the jerking stops. If you go above 50, the jerking stops. Checked universal joints, they seem fine. Could this be transmission trying to shift in between gears into overdrive? Any help or advice please?!?!?!

We have a 2002 Dodge Durango, and it has 99500 miles on it. We're having a problem when we turn the over drive on the transmission gives us a clunking noise once we reach about 25 mph. we went to our local dodge dealer spent a litle over $800 the first time getting a couple sensors replaced, then a couple yrs later we spent $2k on a refurbed transfer case when they thought it would fix the problem, took it back home, check engine light came on afterwards and found out we now need a new transmission, checked prices on those & cheapest one we found was $1400 not including labor but we haven't fixed it yet. We are now driving with the overdrive off... and it's running ok not great for now...

Who knows anything about transmissions and sensors for Dodge Durango?
Have a 2005 Dodge Durango with 73,000 miles. Went out to go somewhere the other morning and it wouldn't shift gears from where it was parked. It is an automatic. It was snowing and cold so thought it just needed to warm up. When I went back to out to try it went in reverse then when I put in drive went about 2 feet and then wouldn't go. Sounded like it was in neutral. It will shift into 4wd, Park, and neutral. Went out later that night and it shifted into drive so I could at least pull it up out of the middle of the driveway. Had no problems driving it earlier in the week. Is it possible it is a sensor rather than the whole transmission needing replaced? Clueless....

My 2005 Dodge Durango with 43,000 miles was running great when the engine light went on. I took it to the Dodge dealer and they said it was emissions and why not get a tune up also? I said OK. Driving home is when the trouble started. My Dodge jerks like it is missing. Occassionally it will stall out. I have had it back to the dealer 3 times, and they can't fix it? Any ideas what is wrong?

My 05 did the same thing. It would even die at redlights and the engine light would come on. I took it to the dealer and they did a tune up and cleaned the intake. They told me that they have seen this and most cases the intake was dirty. Try that and see if it works. It did for mine.

I have a 2005 Durango Hemi. My car was sputtering at low speeds and getting 15.5 MPG. I Paid $500 for a tune up and Fuel injection service. Now it sputters & jerking at all speeds and is getting worse. I am only getting 15.3 MPG now after the tune up. I was told my gas milage would improve, it has been a month. Tomorrow, back to the dealership. Wish me luck...I will post my results tomorrow.:-(

Took my Durango back to Dealer, they checked it on the computer, said nothing was wrong. Updated my computer settings on the car. Rode home with the same problem. Went back today, the transmission tech ran the computer anaylasis on my transmission. Found two sensors were not responding. They are replacing them along with the transmission control module computer. It is still under the 80,000 mile warranty, so they will cover that part. Hopefully this will take care of the problem.

Having issues with my 2001 Dodge Durango. Check engine light came on, took it to Advanced Auto Parts and to do a system check and it said my "torque converter clutch solenoid minute drops at lock up". We've been looking through the book trying to figure out what to do. Still no luck. It revs up and then jerks a little when stopping and going. Any suggestions?

Took My 2005 Durango Hemi back to the dealer for the forth time. They now tell me "the Dodge Durago Hemi's are notoreous for sputtering and jerking like that when they go into overdrive. It is just something that you will have to live with." I wish they would have told me that before they replace the two oxygen sensors and the computer module for the transmission. The problem is now worse than when I started the tune up, which makes me believe it has something to do with the electronics and not the transmission. I'm out $850 and they are out a warranty part which was over $1,000. I am going to another mechanic. I wrote the service manager a letter and am sending a copy to Dodge headquarters. I am traveling alone this summer out of state and will probably have to rent a car.

I have a 2006 Dodge Durango. Just yesterday I was at a light, and proceeded to go,but my truck wouldn't move. It sounded like it was in neutral.. then I gave it a little more gas and it went.. Could it be my transmission?

Hello viewers,so I took my 2006 Durango to the dealer on 7/8/2011 due to the issues I was having with it.. glad to say it was not the transmission. The TPS was shorted, and the wires to the TPS were damaged,so they replaced the TPS and wiring, and serviced the Throttle Body that they said was "Gummed Up"... Since I took my vehicle to the dealer I haven't had any stall-outs,no hesitation,my vehicle has been running great. Total amount was $486. I hope my updated info. was helpful to you.. take care.:)

After three more trips to Orlando Dodge, they have confirmed through Chystler headquarters in Auborn Hills, Michigan that the surging engine and bucking is a "normal condition and there is not arepair for this concern." On further investigation, the new car salesman stated that those problems are have been resolved on the 2011, so Chystler is aware of the problem and is not doing anything about it. It would be wise if you own a Durango to get rid of it before 70,000 miles. It cannot be fixed.(My service advisor, got the information from DOUG (No last name) at STAR, whatever that means. He stated that was the main headquarters. BEWARE!!!!!!!!! Hate to say it but I probably won't being buying any more american cars.
