I just bought a 2005 with the power lock problem also, where they just stop working and when that happens I grab my size 10 metric wrench from glovebox and disconnect my battery for about 3 min.
then reconnect and they work again. also the starting problem I have also but once I cycle the power door locks with the original keys it seem s to start fine

For those wondering what the display "donE" means on the odometer: according to my Dodge dealer, it's a visual indication of the computer's self-diagnostic that has completed its sequence of tests after cycling the ignition key 3 times without a start. As for the "P" with a number, it would be the indication of a problem with its associated reference number.
My DGC 2003 shows all the same intermittent symptoms. In my case, everything points towards wiring and I'm digging: dealer is out of solutions after spending a lot of my hard earned money replacing parts.
Are there any qualified Dodge techs or mechanics reading through these posts???!!! What about the manufacturer's engineers? Come on! Do something! Don't you have any pride in your own products? It would be of great help to have some inputs guys...

Nichole, change your 20 amp fuel pump fuse. When you open your fuse box it should be in the second row up. Should be the only 20 amp that close to side.Go back and find my post. My 05 grand caravan sat for 8 months and it was just a fuse. It happens when I fill the gas tank up. Let us know if it works.

Here is the low down. My GC would start, but would not keep on running, After trying it several time, it just went dead and would not try to start. No dash light, nothing.
Took it to the shop, the alternator was bad, battery was bad, even start to have some corrosion. Replaced them, but the car still was dead.
After several hours of cleaning ground, testing, and working with Chrysler Tech online. The problem was found.
It turns out there about 20 to 30 control modules through out the van, and they are connected via a communication link to the main control module. The module that control the right passenger door had shorted internally,(possible from a spike from the battery and alternator problem). The shortage caused the communication to stop working, since the communications was daisy chained from module to module. Thus the main computer was not communicating to non of the other modules and would not allow the system to work.
It is tedious to check this out, because you have to start disconnecting control modules to find the one that is bad. Some control modules, i.e. the one behind. the dash takes 2 hours to get to by removing the dash.
It takes a good technician with a good electrical knowledge to figure this out.

I think i need to change the computer, but i want more advice b4 i go and buy this. When my 05 caravan started acting up, i drove it to town.. parked it for 5 minutes, got back in and started it and 2sec later died.. cranked it again and it started for a second. After that it would not even turn over. all lights work on dash and fuel pump turns on but will not turn over. I took a piece of wire from pos batt terminal and touched it to the small wire on the starter.. it turns over like that but will not start. It still will NOT turn over from inside van and havent got it started yet.. dont think its firing or anything.. think i got a bad computer?

Just acquired '03: Second week, key would not turn in ignition despite multiple tries, then suddenly, "no problem". Today, stranded in parking lot: key turns, all electrical functions, no response whatever from starter - no clicks, no noise, no nothing. Car is now towed to shop. What's going on here?
Hey I am going throught the same thing, My key will turn the ign on and lights and everything but when you turn it to start pos the motor does not turn over. Yours sound like it could be the switch activater broken. that requires switch and activator. take the switch out and put a screw driver in the slot of the switch and turn it to try to start. mine is electrical and cant find it.

I had starter and battery problems shortly after I bought my used caravan. When looking under the hood I smelled some burning wire. there is a little ground wire connected to the negative battery terminal that was corroded on the inside. Once this wire was replaced with a heavier wire that was new I have not had anymore problems with the battery and starter.

We had similar issues with our '05 Grand Caravan. 2 mechanics from 2 different shops said it was fine. The third place that looked at it told us our spark plugs and cables were shot and needed to be replaced, and that that was the problem. We decided it was time to trade it in rather than pay for the repairs necessary. Hopefully this will help previous/future people with these issues.

I am experiencing the same thing at the moment and was wondering if they found a solution. I can not start my 05 dodge caravan one day last week, I had to pump the gas several times before I could get it turned over and when it finally did it stopped again. I had to repeat the process and reved it up and able to finally get it going. This occurs only occassionally and had it in for service and they can not duplicate the problem so they can't fix it. I have into another dealer service shop today and still the same.
I've just started having the same issues with my 5 caravan. It is just internmittent, but I'm afraid I will be stranded somewhere.

I have a 05 Dodge Grand Caravan, I put it in park and when I came back to turn it on the dash indicated that it was in reverse. When in fact the Gear was in the park position. I can change the gear to each position and it changed manualy. But the dashboard showed that when it's in park the dashboard show it's in R and when I changed it to N it shows in R then i change it into D the dash show that it's in D the same with 3 and L. I think the only reason the van will not turn on is because the only two gears that can turn it on doesn't show up.

I took of the positive termal off and waited for a whole day and put it back together and still same thing. Then i looked online and they said to try putting the key in the ignition without turning the key and press and hold the trip button for 5 seconds and i did. The dashboard did this funky test and i thought that this would have repaired it. But it didn't but a code did show up and that code was sof 7.5 e code. I have been looking online and so far i find that the code stands for replacing my brakes now...

.... Neep help Please........

I have a 2005 Caravan. Things slowly started happening with it. The horn would sound periodically on its own. The tail lights would stay on until the battery died or until I pulled the fuse. One day as I was driving in a parking lot everything went. No power stearing all lights flashed, then the van just died. I had to coast into a parking spot and get it towed home. When you turn over the key, all the dash lights come on but it's no crank, no start. We thought it was the fuse panel itself as it was corroded underneath so we changed that out. Still the same problems. No start. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
