been having this problem for a while. Turn the key and all electronics on but will not turn over. This happens periodicly for no apparent reason. The battery is good, no corrosion. Usually cranks after about 20 turns of the key and the odometer reads "done"

I have been having somewhat the same problem with my 2002 caravan sent it for repairs , they gave it back say it all done and I drive it for maybe one day and it back to the dealers this has been happening for one whole year now it seem they don"t know what's wrong but keep on telling me that they fix the problem I have already paid into to this about $4,000 If there is anyone that might be able to tell me what it could be I thank you.

I dont know about the starting problem. But the "done" message is from the computer that checks for system malfunction[like an on board scan tool][dealer won't ever tell you bout that]. When your check engine light comes on, turn the key to "on" then "off" three times real fast.If there's a problem, there will be a code # that appears for a second then says "done". Good news for you guys.... If you are only getting a "done" message, that means everything else okay. As for the starting thing, in the old days this trouble used mean some sort of starter trouble. Good luck.......

My 2001 Dodge Caravan is doing this same thing. Did you ever get to the bottom of this? Did you figure out what needed to be done. I'd appreciate if you'd share if you did, I need to keep my van going and dependeable, and at this point it is neither.
Thank you,

My 2002 Dodge Caravan's not wanting to start as well. I've had the remote started unhooked & it still's doin it. It'll start up about 4-5 times and stall out like it's running out of gas and then anywhere from 10mins to 6 hours it'll start. I won't spend $4000 trying to fix it, cuz I'll end up writing the company or getting thrown out of the dealership for bein hostel w/ them! We all need to contact the company on this issue to see about a recall on this. It has to be something w/in the steering column & wires or something. I usually leave key on and go from Park to Low and back a few times and sometimes it works and sometimes it don't.We need to stick together on this! I'll letcha know what I find out when my van comes back from the dealership.

My 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan did this and I finally got it to start after many times and the repair shop said it needed a new solenoid. Set me back a few hundred dollars, but it fixed the problem.

Same problem on an 04 Caravan 3.3L 41te, starter and solenoid have both tested fine. I replaced the TRS sensor to no avail, but after replacing the TRS I now get the "done" message, I never got this before(even when it wouldn't start). Also I get no codes, and never got any codes from the on/off key cycle trick.

To those experiencing the same problem, at this point I'm leaning towards one of the computers, but a shop will have to narrow that one down for me.

The van would start, rev up a little, bring revs down to normal and stall. This repeated 3 to 4 times. Then “done”. The odometer said “done”. Also a red dot appeared and has stayed on. What does done mean? Then it wouldn’t even turn over at all. I tried 3 or 4 times to re-start and it wouldn’t even turn over. I waited a bit and it started again. I let it run and the red security dot would not turn off. can anyone shed some light on this?

My 2002 dodge grand caravan sport cranks, but will not start. I've checked for spark and have a yellowish- orange spark, so I don't think it is the ignition coil. I was wondering if any one might have some insight to what it could be. Thanks for your help,

It ended up being the fuel pump. Thanks for the insight,

Me too. I just replaced the battery and now the car will either click and not start (3 or 4 times) or it will rev up and stall. I just noticed over the weekend that the word "done" comes up on the odometer. Help. I can not afford to make any big purchase or pay for parts and labor at this moment, trying to save my house. My van is a 2002 dodge caravan. Any more news anyone?

My 2002 caravan did this today. I just put a new battery in last week. This afternoon out of the blue it wouldn't start and the odometer was flashing "done".

My 2001 Caravon SPort is doing the same thing. First place I took it replaced the alternator (I don't think they knew what it was at all and changed the alternator for nothing)then the dodge dealer changed the celenoid. That didn't work. Now I can't get it to start at all. I am getting the done message to but from above that looks like it's supposed to do that. The garage I usually go to said they think the computer needs to be flashed but the dealership said no. Has anyone had the computer flashed and did it work?

My 2001 dodge caravan sport will not turn over occasionally. This happens 1 or 2 times a week. The relay clicks but nothing else can be heard. Usually after a few minutes i can get it to start again but i have also had 2 times (very annoying) that i had to wait for 24 hours before it would do anything. I have a brand new starter motor and solenoid that was working fine for 3 months before this happened so that can't be the issue. I have also seen the same issue with 2008 and 2010 grand caravan's on the edmunds forum. So far they have replaced "TIPM, battery, starter, cables, and ignition" and still no success. It appears that nobody has solved this problem from what i have read.
