haven,t heard anything yet. wondering if the rumor is true that fiat wants rid of the rest of us and gov't. funds are set aside to buy the rest of us out?
I don't think there's enough money left in the pension fund to do that(pay 10K for every year of service)...letter I got stated that the vested portion of my pension is worth less than
$5000...? maybe i am not understanding this correctly...

well if the pension isn't paid out for another 16 years, maybe that is all the cash value of it is?
i hope yr right and that it is worth more, and, with the solvency of many pensions in question, it may be better to take the money now rather than to find out that it went broke when i finally retire?

Health care benefits are something to be considered here too. Take a pension settlement.. no healthcare after retirement. Keep the pension, keep the healthcare. But who knows, tomorrow all that could change.

It would be nice if we could see some kind of truth to all this speculation.

Let's be real, the VEBA is greatly Underfunded, they are setting this up to fail, you can't under Fund the VEBA by 50% in 2007 and now underfund it another 50% and expect it to be around when we retire, it's only enough money to take care of the current retirees, it's better then what whould have happened to it if the Republicans would have had their way, but it's not ideal for those still actively working for the Big 3, it is what it is

I personally think every individual should be responsible for their own health care. Obama is a socialist and I think we will regret all this spending in the coming years. Had I known this about Obama I would have voted McCain/Palin.

Duhh,,, you and millions of other sheeple who actually believe leftwing liars. Course he will always get the black vote even if he reinstituted slavery. The black voter will never be able to see past the skin. Look at Marion Barry and the um fee-fee or whatever the name of the criminal who got elected in Detroit. Run him against Jesus Christ and the black vote would re=elect the crook.

Rush Limbaugh would be proud, but let's ask yourself this, since you can't pick your own name and feel the need to infrindge on my trademarked name, what do you feel should be the punishment for Rush Limbaugh since he just compared the President of the United States of America to Al Qaeda, i personnaly think Rush Limbaugh should be shot right in his big fat head, what do you think?
