It is for all Chrysler employees. Tier 2 employees have made sacrifices too, perhaps more so than us tier 1. It probably won't be much but it is nice that we are all being recognized for our hard work.

Chrysler to dole out hourly, salary bonuses
Payouts come as automaker rebounds, sees 11 net profits as high as $500M
12:52 am U.S. ET, Jan. 31 2011 | UPDATED: 1/31/11 12:48 pm ET
Chrysler will pay all employees a performance bonus -$750 for hourly workers - for contributions in helping the company introduce 16 new or revamped vehicles in 2010. Just a year and a half after emerging from bankruptcy, the company posted an operating profit of $198 million in the 4th quarter and $763 million for the full year. The automaker -- boosted by new models, as well as higher industry sales forecast for the U.S. market -- now expects to generate net profits of $200 million to $500... Read More

That is going to piss off some tax payers if it happens. No doubt about it.

If tier 2 does not get a bonus you can kiss the UAW goodbye. However, that would be a smart move by mgmt.

If the loans are paid off there should be no problem with it.

I don't get it. As long as Chrysler is paying back its loan and not handout then why should it matter to the tax payer, when Chrysler is paying huge amounts of intrest on the loan also.

Those that would have a problem with it already don't buy Chryslers, but i do agree with you that it would be a better move to payoff the debt first, but they always throw a token amount to the hourly guys to justify giving $100,000 plus dollar bonus checks to manufacturing managers and plant managers and such

Problem with that is, Under the current contract, Tier 2 does not have a pension plan, outside of a small 401k and a money account for lack of medical coverage. So your analogy does not work here. Which should scare ever Tier 1 out there, if the current separation remains.

He isnt thinking long term...he is thinking I, me, want it right now! I said the same thing, about our pension will be his someday, on another link he was ranting on. Next he will talk about voting our wage down. Another stupid selfish live for the moment thought. We get a buy down and you get nothing and never get to that wage. You should really think before you speak. The speed of light travels faster than the speed of sound. Thats why your statements appear smart until you open your mouth. Think before you speak.

Great deal...take away vacation, benefits and cost of living increases...what's all that worth, 5k?...then give back 750 as a "thank you". Brilliant move by Serge the Sweater. Unfortunately most people are too stupid to connect the dots here. It's like going ass to mouth, but handing you a napkin to clean yourself up afterward and expecting you to sa
