Just wondering how many new hires think their parents are proud!?!?!?

I just love my job to be honest with you all :) yes my parents are very proud of me now that im making more than i did at burger king for the past 10 years!!!! Im now 32 years old and can finally support a brand new house and new car!!!!!!!!!! Guess i shouldve laid off the drugs years ago and maybe this wouldve happened sooner rather than later but oh well....it is what it is :)

I dont think my parents are very proud at all....they called me a loser because i have no education amd work for crap wages with no benefits as opposed to going to school and getting a degree and higher education. I feel like such a loser!!!

Wow... Just wow.
And we wonder why we're in such bad shape as a country with attitudes like that.
If you could have started at our wage, I'm sure that you would have had NO problem working for that kind of money, and hopefully one day you all WILL earn the same money that we do.
Good luck to you and all the new hires, but don't hate on the seniority employees, most of us would rather see you making what we do.

you could not due the jobs that I have done over the last 15 years plus. Jobs where you stayed on one job all day all 10 hours fve days a week & put in sat. as well & do this for almost a year long. As far as assembly work goes all you want is a job where you have to have 20 plus years to get you want it now.

I don't know about other plants, but at our plant 95% of the "new hires" are the laziest SOB's I've ever met. They have more PQX's than anyone I know and for the dumbest reasons. I'd rethink your position new hires because if the economy takes another dive and shifts are eliminated again, it won't be the senority workers out on main street -- it'll be YOU! You don't believe it now, but 15 or more years from now, you'll be saying the same thing to the newest bunch of know-it-alls hired in.

they are just using you in about 2 year things will slow down and you will get laid off and back at Burger king for you and the old turd will still be working and making $30.00 and hour.

What about the division of pay between the Tier 1 and the Tier 2 employees. The tier 1's just got hired in by the deadline to make the $28 an hour. The tier 2's make the lower $16.00 an hour. I know they make less but the division is a shame. It either a life of middle class wealth, or poverty for the tier 2's. What we should also fight is healthcare after we retire. No one thinks of that. The real time you need healthcare is in your retirement years. Other wise it can drain all your savings.
