I have some good information on where most new hires will be working. Most applicants who applied for full time will be going to Warren truck to fill the b shift starting march 4th. Some will be hired as tpt to only work Monday and Friday to cover absences. Chances of those starting as tpt of going to full time will be based on how many hired for full-time are still around after the 90 day probation period. For instance if ten who were hired full time quit, 10 tpt's could roll into their spots. New tpt's will then be hired to fill the tpt's that rolled to full-time. The majority of those going to Dundee or mopar will be hired as tpt and only work according to market conditions and demand. Employment at Warren truck will be the best chance of full-time long term employment with Chrysler.

Yes, there will be a hiring group each week up until the march 4th launch of the new shift. 150-200 new employees per orientation.

My status says congratulations on your position... Even tho it says that, is there still a chance they won't hire me? Or they going to send me a orientation email for sure?

would you happen to have info on the hiring for the toledo plant

I have know knowledge of the Toledo hiring process, only the metro Detroit labor market. As for the congratulations on your new position status, nothing is a gaurantee until you receive your orientation email. The orientation email confirms that your name and info are in the system of a particular plant. Keep in mind if you do not respond or acknowledge every email they send you could be dropped from the system. This happens alot. Keep close tabs on all emailed updates.

Orientation is scheduled for 4 days this week. Will new hires begin working after that or have to wait until March 4 when WTAP begins the 3rd crew?

If your orientation is at that plant your going to, that first day of orientation is your date of entry seniority date. If your orientation is 4 days you will begin working on the fifth day. New hires will be expected to know their job by march 4th. If your first day of orientation is january 23rd, that is your seniority date for that plant. If you are ever laid off and picked up at another plant your seniority date will become the first day at that plant. Your original first day will always be your seniority for retirement.

Thanks for the info. I heard we can select our jobs based on hire date senority, which is determined by alphabetical order of last name. If so does it rotate like the military, beginning with letters other "A"? Or will those of us at the end of the alphabet always end up with the least favored jobs?

Seniority breaks down like this:

Hire Date
First letter of Last Name is the date tie breaker.

So yeah, when the time comes to select certain jobs, you can in fact be screwed over due to your last name. Until that time comes, they'll just place you somewhere. If you have an easy job, just try to stick with it. If you have a hard job, maybe you can try to get off of it when jobs are posted.

Job postings won't happen for a while.

I was assigned to the trim dept. I have heard nothing good about that dept. I heard the work is grunt, tedious, the worse dept. etc. What should I be prepared for? Is it heavy lifting, complicated work?

Trim is lighter shit here at shap hard on the hands though. Chassis is the heavier stuff suck as carpet rotors and so on.

Take into consideration i am 21 years old been working as skill trades since I was 16

I started on trim my hands swollen up and hard to move at times had to ice them and heat them in the morning.

Chassis I has back problems picking up heavier objects and bending over so much since I've been here for 2.5 months it has only affected me once to where I could hardly get out of bed

I have been assigned to Dept No. 9151 and will be at WTAP tomorrow morning for training. I saw earlier in a comment that it's the Trim Dept. What do they trim in that dept? I have never worked in a plant before. My cousin is going to Dept. No. 9171 what department is that?
