Not confirmed, but heard there could be a switch of plant managers. KTPs goes to casting, ITP 1s goes to KTP, but didn't hear about ITP 2. Even if this is true, doesn't sound too "big" to me. Especially considering there will be a large layoff very soon.

I was told 100 the first of the year and another 300-400 in March if not more. This came from the plant manager at KTP. And also we will probably start seeing packages after the first of the year.

My committeeman said 120 at ITP, 250 at the deuce after Jan. 1. Also rate reductions at both plants. We are hearing 500 total including trades. Losing projects after Jan. 1.

The difference between the 70k and the 100k is one is a retirement package and the other is a "voluntery termination of employment." Right now it is a "by Plant" option for those plants closing or losing a shift.

They never did make an announcement like they said they were but now we are hearing that there may be an announcement THIS Friday.

We have been hit by so many financial hardships this year that a layoff sounds pretty scarey. It wouldn't be quite so bad if they didn't take thier time getting sub taken care of. We have gone 3 or 4 weeks before they have gotten sub out before in the past.

This is the information we all finally got:
This from a letter sent to all ITP2 employees.(the current build per day is 1050.) Below is word for word from the letter.

ITP2 PRODUCTION SCHEDULE FOR 2008

WEEK OF - BUILD STATUS
12/17/07 - Down Week
12/31/07 - 1050/Day
1/7/08 - 1050/Day
1/14/07 - Down Week
1/21/07 - Down Week
1/28/07 - Down Week
2/4/08 - Derate to 749/Day

749 will be the build per day for the 2008 calendar year.

Non-skilled labor affected will approximately be 100

As always, this information is subject to change.

Took a drive through Anderson yesterday. The memories of getting stuck in rush hour factory traffic came back. Let me tell ya, you won’t find rush hour traffic anymore. Anderson once thrived and now is a ghost town. Take heed Kokomo…I feel your next.
